Used 2025 Toyota 4Runner for Sale nearSt. John's, NL

How much does the 2025 Toyota 4Runner cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 99 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Toyota 4Runner earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

It is aimed at you if you want a rugged, body-on-frame SUV that keeps its off-road identity while adding more capability, power, comfort, and technology. The redesign also makes it more composed on pavement, so it broadens beyond pure trail use without losing the 4Runner character.

One trade-off is that the cabin still asks you to accept some compromises, especially in rear-seat space. Another is that the most adventure-focused versions can bring extra road noise, which may matter if you spend lots of time on the highway.

With 19.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner is presented as a more modern take on a familiar formula, with Toyota keeping the rugged character that has long defined the nameplate. It is also described as a standout because it combines more capability with more comfort and technology, while still being built for serious all-terrain use.

Its powertrain story also supports confidence: the standard turbocharged four-cylinder is paired with an eight-speed automatic, and the hybrid adds stronger low-speed usable power rather than chasing fuel-sipping efficiency alone. That setup, along with Toyota’s reputation for reliability, points to a vehicle designed for durable ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is not mechanical fragility so much as living with the compromises that come with a truck-based SUV, especially if you need more rear-seat room.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota 4Runner?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is purposeful and more refined than some rivals, but the base setup still leans hard into durability with lots of hard plastic. Higher trims add more comfort and equipment, so you should pay close attention to whether the features you want are standard or package-dependent.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder and a Hybrid i-Force Max setup. The hybrid brings 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque, while the standard engine makes 317 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, automatic high beams, and Proactive Driving Assist. In Canada, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is also standard.
• Infotainment: An 8-inch touchscreen is standard, while a 14-inch touchscreen is available. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and a charging pad is offered. A digital instrument panel is included with all Hybrid variants and in most extra-cost packages on gas models.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard four-cylinder is estimated at 12.4 L/100 km city, 9.6 highway, and 11.2 combined. The hybrid is estimated at 10.3 L/100 km city, 9.5 highway, and 9.9 combined.

Which 2025 Toyota 4Runner trim should I buy?

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner is offered in 8 trim levels: SR5, Limited, Platinum, TRD Off-Road Premium, TRD Pro, Trailhunter, and the Hybrid i-Force Max variants.

Here's the short version:

• SR5: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the 4Runner formula at the lowest starting price and do not need the extra equipment found higher up.
• Limited: This is the better pick if you want a more road-friendly setup and access to full-time 4WD, making it a strong choice for buyers who split time between city use and weekend travel.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want a more upscale version of the 4Runner with the same core capability but a more premium feel.
• TRD Off-Road Premium: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds serious off-road ability without jumping all the way to the most specialised models.
• TRD Pro: Pick this if you want the most capable adventure-focused version and are willing to pay for the top-tier off-road hardware.
• Trailhunter: This is the most specialised overlanding-style option, and it suits you if your priority is trail equipment and expedition-ready character.
• Hybrid i-Force Max variants: Choose these if you want the stronger powertrain, especially for low-speed torque and tougher off-road situations.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, which makes it easier to shop by capability and comfort rather than by basic protection equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota 4Runner?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so it rewards patience and comparison shopping.

• Deal availability: 19.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 99 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $69,682 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner's resale value?

The current average of $71,770 CAD sits slightly below last year's $72,357 CAD.

That small decline suggests the market has softened a bit, but not dramatically. For you as a future seller, that usually points to a vehicle with relatively stable pricing rather than sharp depreciation swings.

Because the 4Runner is still in demand as a rugged, capable SUV, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than many mainstream used vehicles. Strong equipment, desirable trims, and clean condition should matter a lot when it is time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner safe?

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner does not yet have crash test results from either NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on all models and includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, automatic high beams, and Proactive Driving Assist. In Canada, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is also standard.

One caveat is that Proactive Driving Assist can feel too intrusive for some drivers, though you can disable it. If you want the most confidence on the road, you should make sure the driver-assistance systems behave the way you prefer during a test drive.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota 4Runner or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 19.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a redesigned package with more capability, power, comfort, and technology.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $57,543 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $71,770 CAD average.
• It remains a rugged, old-school SUV with genuine off-road ability and a strong reputation for reliability and durability.

The bottom line: If you want the newer, more refined, and more capable 4Runner, the 2025 is the better long-term pick. If your priority is spending less up front and you are comfortable with the older-generation trade-offs, the 2024 is the value play.
