Used 2025 Toyota 4Runner for Sale nearNanaimo, BC

How much does the 2025 Toyota 4Runner cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 94 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner a good car?

Yes — it earns 5/5 from owners and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner is positioned as a long-awaited redesign that keeps the familiar rugged formula while adding more capability, power, comfort, and technology. It is still aimed at you if you want a solid all-terrain vehicle that can extend your adventures further, but it is also more composed on pavement than before, which broadens its appeal beyond off-road use.

The main trade-off is that it still asks you to accept some compromises in passenger room, especially in the rear seat. The standard engine is also not as strong as the hybrid, so if you want the most usable low-speed power, the upgrade matters.

With 19.1% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market offers some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner is described as a redesigned model that keeps the nameplate’s rugged identity while adding more capability, comfort, and technology. It is also presented as a more modern take on the formula, with a contemporary selection of four-cylinder powertrains and a hybrid option that improves efficiency.

Its performance notes point to a quieter cabin, improved highway tracking, and stronger low-speed power from the hybrid, all of which support easier day-to-day ownership. Toyota also frames the model as a standout that benefits from the brand’s reputation for reliability.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the truck-based design still brings some compromises, so you should make sure the vehicle’s condition and equipment match how you plan to use it.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota 4Runner?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SR5 starts the range, while higher trims add more capability and equipment. The cabin is purposeful and more refined than some rivals, but there is still a lot of hard plastic, so you should check whether the trim you want includes the comfort and convenience features you expect.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder and the Hybrid i-Force Max. The standard engine makes 317 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque, while the hybrid delivers 326 hp and 465 lb-ft and is the stronger choice for low-speed off-road use.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, automatic high beams, Proactive Driving Assist, and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. Proactive Driving Assist can feel intrusive, but it can be disabled.
• Infotainment: An 8-inch touchscreen is standard, while a 14-inch screen is available. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and a charging pad is offered. A digital instrument panel comes with all Hybrid variants and most extra-cost packages on gas models.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard four-cylinder is estimated at 12.4 L/100 km city, 9.6 L/100 km highway, and 11.2 L/100 km combined. The hybrid is estimated at 10.3 L/100 km city, 9.5 L/100 km highway, and 9.9 L/100 km combined.

Which 2025 Toyota 4Runner trim should I buy?

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner is offered in 8 trim levels: SR5, Limited, Platinum, TRD Off-Road Premium, TRD Pro, Trailhunter, and the Hybrid i-Force Max variants.

Here's the short version:

• SR5: This is the entry point if you want the core 4Runner experience at the lowest price. It gives you the standard turbocharged four-cylinder, part-time 4WD, and the basic tech and safety suite, making it the value play if you do not need the extra equipment of the higher trims.
• Limited: Choose this if you want a more road-focused setup and the available full-time 4WD. It suits you if comfort and everyday usability matter more than maximum trail hardware.
• Platinum: This is the more upscale choice in the gas lineup, and it also gets available full-time 4WD. It makes sense if you want the most polished version of the standard powertrain setup.
• TRD Off-Road Premium: This is the best-value trim for many buyers because it adds serious off-road capability without jumping all the way to the most expensive adventure models. It is described as impressively capable and able to handle challenging obstacles without needing lower transfer-case gearing.
• TRD Pro: This is the most capable adventure-focused trim in the lineup and is aimed at you if off-road performance is the priority.
• Trailhunter: This is the other top adventure model, and it is also among the most capable trims. It is the one to consider if you want the most specialised overlanding-style setup.
• Hybrid i-Force Max variants: These are the trims to target if you want the stronger powertrain and better fuel economy. The hybrid is the preferred choice if you want the most usable power at lower speeds.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard across the range, and the blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert is standard in Canada.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota 4Runner?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 19.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 94 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $69,694 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner's resale value?

The current average of $71,180 CAD sits slightly below last year's $71,898 CAD.

That small decline suggests the market has stayed relatively stable rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that usually points to predictable pricing rather than a sudden drop in value.

Because the 4Runner is still in demand as a rugged, capable SUV, well-kept examples should remain easier to position than less distinctive alternatives. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner safe?

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner does not yet have crash test results from NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

All 4Runner models come standard with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of advanced safety features that include frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, and automatic high beams. It also includes Proactive Driving Assist, which automatically slows the vehicle when approaching curves in the road, though the system could be too intrusive for many drivers. Thankfully, you can disable it. In Canada, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert is also standard.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota 4Runner or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 19.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a full redesign with more capability, power, comfort, and technology.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $56,860 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $71,180 CAD average.
• It remains a rugged, reliable off-road SUV with plenty of cargo space.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the redesigned truck with better power, efficiency, and technology. If your priority is spending less and you can live with the older, less polished package, the 2024 is the cheaper path.
