Used 2025 Subaru Outback for Sale nearInnisfil, ON

How much does the 2025 Subaru Outback cost?

Prices have softened 14.87% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 269 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2025 Subaru Outback a good car?

Yes — with a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating, the 2025 Subaru Outback makes a strong case for itself if you want a distinctive wagon with everyday usefulness. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Its appeal comes from a practical long-roof shape, standard all-wheel drive, a comfortable ride, and strong safety ratings. The trade-off is that the base engine is underwhelming and the touchscreen response is sluggish, so you should be ready for a few compromises if tech smoothness matters to you.

If you want something that feels different from the usual SUV formula while still covering family and commuting duties, this is a sensible fit. With 35.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s enough market activity to keep shopping options interesting.

Is the 2025 Subaru Outback reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Outback’s reliability case is helped by its straightforward wagon layout, standard all-wheel drive, and a powertrain lineup that uses regular unleaded gas. The expert assessment also points to a comfortable, well-sorted driving experience, which usually matters when you’re planning to keep a vehicle for years.

Its dependability story is less about flashy complexity and more about familiar hardware and practical engineering. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the infotainment system and base engine may continue to feel frustrating if you expect quick responses and brisk acceleration.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Subaru Outback?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Convenience and Touring trims use cloth upholstery and 17-inch wheels, while Onyx and Wilderness models add easy-to-clean StarTex synthetic leather and heated outboard rear seats. Limited and Premier grades add DriverFocus, built-in navigation, and leather upholstery, so the lower trims are where you’ll feel the biggest feature gaps.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.5-litre four-cylinder makes 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque, while XT and Wilderness models use a turbocharged 2.4-litre engine with 260 hp and 277 lb-ft. Both use a CVT and standard all-wheel drive, and the upgraded engine is the better choice if you want stronger response.
• Safety package: Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist technology is standard and includes adaptive cruise control with lane centring, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and automatic emergency steering. Touring and higher trims also add blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: Most trims get a portrait-oriented 11.6-inch touchscreen, while the base model uses twin 7-inch displays. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, wireless unless you have the base setup, but the system is slow to respond.
• Fuel efficiency: The base 2.5-litre model is rated at 9.2 L/100 km city, 7.3 highway, and 8.3 combined. Turbocharged XT models rise to 10.6 city, 8.1 highway, and 9.5 combined, while Wilderness models are rated at 11.0 city, 9.0 highway, and 10.1 combined.

Which 2025 Subaru Outback trim should I buy?

The 2025 Subaru Outback is offered in 6 trim levels: Convenience, Touring, Onyx, Limited, Wilderness, and Premier XT.

Here's the short version:

• Convenience: This is the value-focused starting point, but you give up the larger 11.6-inch screen and several comfort upgrades found higher up the range. It suits you if you want the Outback’s core strengths at the lowest entry point.
• Touring: This trim adds a more complete everyday setup while staying close to the lower end of the range, making it a sensible middle-ground choice for many shoppers.
• Onyx: This is the best-value pick if you want a tougher look and easier-to-clean StarTex upholstery, plus heated outboard rear seats and the larger infotainment setup.
• Limited: This is the better choice if you want leather upholstery, built-in navigation, and DriverFocus without jumping all the way to the top trims.
• Wilderness: This is the one to choose if you want the most adventure-ready version, with 24.1 centimetres of ground clearance, a front skid plate, and extra X-Mode settings.
• Premier XT: This is the most upscale choice, adding Nappa leather upholstery and ventilated front seats, but it makes the most sense if you want maximum comfort rather than best value.

Touring and higher trims also add blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist and rear cross-traffic alert.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Subaru Outback?

The market looks moderately favourable for selective buyers, especially if you’re willing to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 269 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.87% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $39,998 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Subaru Outback's resale value?

The current average of $39,998 CAD sits slightly below last year's $46,982 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has become more buyer-friendly, which can work against a future seller if depreciation continues at the same pace. On the other hand, the Outback’s distinctive wagon shape and broad practical appeal may help it hold attention better than more ordinary crossovers.

If you buy at the current average, your resale outcome will depend heavily on trim, condition, and mileage. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should remain easier to move than stripped or heavily used ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Subaru Outback safe?

The 2025 Outback earned a Top Safety Pick designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and a five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist technology is standard and includes adaptive cruise control with lane centring, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and automatic emergency steering. Touring and higher trims also add blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist and rear cross-traffic alert.

One caveat is that the lane-centring behaviour can feel a little busy, with more side-to-side movement than ideal. That doesn’t make the Outback unsafe, but it does mean the system may feel less polished than you’d expect in routine highway driving.

Should I buy a 2025 Subaru Outback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It may be your last chance to buy the current wagon-shaped Outback before the redesign changes its character.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $34,633 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $39,998 CAD average.
• It keeps the raised wagon shape and offers a broad trim range.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It brings an SUV-like redesign with more feature enhancements and stronger all-around versatility.

The bottom line: If you want the current Outback’s distinctive wagon shape, the 2025 is the one to target now. If price matters most, the 2024 is the smarter value play, while the 2026 makes sense if you’d rather wait for the redesigned version and its broader appeal.
