The trade-offs are worth noting, though: the infotainment is called terrible, there is no ability to independently shift gears without paying extra, and the base price is high. If you want a stylish, entertaining small car that still works for everyday use, this one fits that brief well.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 MINI Cooper?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin brings fresh design and materials, a panoramic sunroof on non-convertible four-door models, standard heated front seats, and a standard heated steering wheel, but the base setup still leans heavily on the touchscreen for controls.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, with 161 horsepower in the base model and 201 hp in the Cooper S.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane departure warning. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go is optional.
• Infotainment: The round 9.4-inch touchscreen runs Mini’s latest Operating System 9 software, and Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, and dual-zone climate control are standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The model achieves a Natural Resources Canada rating of between 7.3 and 7.9 litres per 100 kilometres combined depending on the configuration.

Which 2025 MINI Cooper trim should I buy?

The 2025 MINI Cooper is offered in 4 trim levels: Cooper C three-door, Cooper C four-door, Cooper S three-door, Cooper S four-door.

Here's the short version:

• Cooper C three-door: This is the entry point, and it makes the most sense if you want the MINI look and feel at the lowest price. It gives you the core design and tech, but you are still paying a premium for the badge.
• Cooper C four-door: Choose this if you want the same basic formula with easier rear-seat access and a bit more everyday flexibility.
• Cooper S three-door: This is the best-value trim if you care most about the driving experience. The extra torque makes the car feel much more eager, and the expert review says the added torque is worth the slight price increase.
• Cooper S four-door: Pick this if you want the stronger engine and a little more practicality in the body style, but still want the more entertaining version of the car.

The safety package is standard across the model, while adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go remains optional.

• Deal availability: 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 121 listings available.

The current average of $39,523 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,764 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can be helpful if you are buying now but less favourable if you plan to sell soon. If prices continue to settle, future sellers may need to be more competitive on condition, mileage, and equipment to stand out. On the other hand, the MINI's distinctive character and strong demand among shoppers who want something different can help support values better than a more ordinary small car.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

In Canada, it comes standard with forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane departure warning. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality is optional. The expert review also notes that the optional adaptive cruise control was laggy and easily confused by cars cutting into the lane, so that is worth checking if you are considering a used example with that feature.

Should I buy a 2025 MINI Cooper or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 model is redesigned with all-new infotainment tech and a lighter, more spacious feel while keeping the MINI personality.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version of the MINI Cooper’s design, tech, and packaging, the 2025 is the one to target. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still deliver the same basic character for less, but the 2025 gives you the freshest take on the formula.
