How much does the 2018 MINI Cooper cost?

Prices have softened 15.92% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 107 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of choice in the used market.

Is the 2018 MINI Cooper a good car?

Yes — the 2018 MINI Cooper earns a 5/5 user rating, which lines up with the way shoppers describe it as fun to drive, well equipped, and good value for its sporty design. The appeal is strongest if you want a small premium-feeling car with playful handling and distinctive style rather than maximum practicality. It also works well if you value a zippy driving experience and useful features in a compact package. The market shows 35.5% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 MINI Cooper reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a car that many drivers find dependable in day-to-day use, with the kind of trouble-free ownership experience that helps build confidence over time. The strongest praise centres on its enjoyable character and overall satisfaction, which suggests many owners feel good about keeping it for the long haul. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the driving experience and more about making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 MINI Cooper?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 107 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.92% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,007 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 MINI Cooper's resale value?

The current average of $15,579 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,529 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the softer pricing means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been kept. Strong demand for the MINI’s style and driving character can help support values, but the compact size and niche appeal mean presentation matters a lot.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 MINI Cooper or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value and personality, the 2018 is a sensible place to focus because pricing has eased and owner satisfaction is high. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2018’s current market position and appeal.
