Is the 2025 Lexus IS a good car?

The 2025 Lexus IS stands out as a compact luxury sports sedan that has long appealed to younger buyers with its comparatively low price point and compact proportions. It is also the entry-level model in the Lexus lineup, and its reputation is built around being fun to drive while still offering standard advanced safety features and easy-to-use technology.

For shoppers who want a sedan that feels more engaging than many mainstream alternatives, that combination is a major part of its appeal. The standard equipment list and available upgrades give you a well-rounded luxury package, and the model’s focus on driving enjoyment makes it a strong fit if you value character over maximum practicality.

With 24.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Lexus IS reliable?

The 2025 Lexus IS is presented as a compact luxury sports sedan with a reputation built around being fun to drive while still offering standard advanced safety features and easy-to-use technology. It also benefits from the 2021 refresh that brought updated infotainment and a broad set of standard driver-assistance features.

For used buyers, that combination points to a vehicle that should be appealing if you want a premium sedan with a straightforward feature set and a long-running model history. Long-term ownership risk is more about accepting its tight packaging and efficiency trade-offs than worrying about whether it fits the role you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Lexus IS?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some confidence if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 24.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 75 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.17% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $54,343 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Lexus IS's resale value?

The current average of $54,768 CAD sits slightly below last year's $61,653 CAD.

That price movement suggests the model has softened enough to improve your buying position today, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive resale environment if values continue to drift lower. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. For a future seller, the key will be how well the car holds demand against its tight rear seat and poor fuel economy.

Should I buy a 2025 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 24.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.17% compared with last year.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds updated digital tech and a refreshed exterior and interior.

The bottom line: The 2025 makes sense if you want the current model-year pricing advantage and a sporty luxury sedan with a familiar feature set. If you are more focused on the newest technology and refreshed design, the 2026 is the better path; if you are price-sensitive, the 2025 is the smarter value play.
