That small increase suggests the market has been stable, which is usually a good sign if you plan to sell later. If demand stays steady, a well-kept IS should remain relatively easy to price competitively when you decide to move on.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is the better pick if you want the refreshed styling, the updated cabin tech, and a stable used-market price in a compact luxury sedan. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year may be worth considering, but the 2018 remains the stronger all-around choice for shoppers who value the balance of features, driving feel, and owner satisfaction.
