In Canada, all-wheel drive is standard, and you also get both gas and hybrid powertrains, plus useful everyday equipment like an 8-inch touchscreen, USB inputs, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

Toyota Safety Sense comes standard, including lane-keep assist, lane-departure alerts, and automatic emergency braking, and the Highlander has earned top IIHS safety designations every year since this design went on sale. The 2024 Toyota Highlander is described as having a strong reputation for reliability and safety, and its standard safety equipment adds to its appeal for used buyers. It is also positioned as a comfort-focused SUV with practical packaging, which usually suits buyers looking for steady, low-drama ownership.

For used shoppers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright dependability and more about whether the small third row and less engaging driving character fit your needs over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Highlander?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 126 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.82% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $48,050 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Highlander's resale value?

The current average of $48,050 CAD sits slightly below last year's $53,881 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can make the Highlander more attractive to used buyers today but may also mean future sellers need to price competitively. If you buy at the right point in the range, you may have less downside risk than someone who pays near the top end.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2024 Highlander is the better pick if you want a comfort-focused, safety-minded midsize SUV with standard all-wheel drive in Canada and strong owner satisfaction. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2024 makes sense when you want a well-equipped, practical choice and can find one priced near the lower end of the market.
