How much does the 2024 Lexus RX cost?

Prices have softened 13.29% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 221 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Lexus RX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.2/10 expert rating.

The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

It is aimed at you if you want a luxury crossover SUV that prioritises comfort, refinement, and a quiet cabin over excitement. The trade-off is that it is not as engaging to drive as some rivals, and its performance is fairly pedestrian. Some interior materials also feel cheap, which may matter if you expect a more polished premium finish.

With 28.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The RX’s overall positioning points toward a calm, comfort-first ownership experience, and its expert assessment reinforces that it is built around refinement rather than complexity for its own sake. The powertrain and cabin are presented as well-suited to relaxed daily use, with the hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants adding efficiency-focused appeal.

Its standard and available equipment are designed to support easy ownership, and the available maintenance-related trial and subscription services can help with connected features early on. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright dependability and more about whether you are comfortable with its conservative performance and premium ownership costs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Lexus RX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base RX 350 gives you the core luxury crossover experience, while higher-priced packages add faux suede inserts in the seats, doors, and roof pillars, plus a larger 14-inch infotainment touchscreen. If you want the most inviting cabin, the upper trims are the ones to focus on.
• Powertrain: The RX 350 uses a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine with 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The RX 350h hybrid uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder with 246 hp and a CVT, while the RX 500h F Sport Performance adds a hybridised turbo 2.4-litre setup with 366 hp and a six-speed automatic. The plug-in hybrid RX 450h+ adds an 18.1-kWh battery and up to 60 kilometres of electric-only range.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a rear passenger safe-exit system, and parking proximity sensors. A head-up display, digital rearview mirror, surround-view camera system, semi-automated parking system, and highway driving assist are available.
• Infotainment: Lower-priced configurations get a 9.8-inch touchscreen, while higher-end models use a 14-inch display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the system also supports cloud-based navigation with a three-year free trial.
• Fuel efficiency: The base RX 350 is estimated at 9.9 L/100 km combined, the RX 350h at 6.5 L/100 km combined, the RX 500h at 8.6 L/100 km combined, and the RX 450h+ at 2.8 litres-equivalent per 100 kilometres combined.

Which 2024 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2024 Lexus RX is offered in 4 trim levels: RX 350, RX 350h, RX 500h F Sport Performance, RX 450h+.

Here's the short version:

• RX 350: This is the entry point, and it gives you the standard luxury SUV formula with the turbocharged 2.4-litre engine, AWD, and the full Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 suite. It makes sense if you want the least expensive way into the RX lineup.
• RX 350h: This is the best-value trim for most buyers because it adds the hybrid powertrain and a major fuel-economy advantage without jumping all the way to the pricier plug-in model. If you want the most balanced mix of efficiency and everyday usability, this is the one to target.
• RX 500h F Sport Performance: Choose this if you want the most power in the lineup and a more performance-oriented character. It is the right fit if you care more about stronger acceleration than maximum efficiency.
• RX 450h+: This is the plug-in hybrid choice, and it suits you if you can charge regularly and want the longest electric-only driving capability in the range. It is also the priciest option, so it makes the most sense for buyers who will actually use the EV range.

All RX models come standard with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, so even the base trim gets a strong safety package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Lexus RX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 221 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.29% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $53,978 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $53,978 CAD sits slightly below last year's $62,248 CAD.

That price movement suggests the RX is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago, which can make it harder for a seller to command top dollar right away. If you are planning to sell later, the current softness means you may need to price competitively to stand out. On the other hand, the RX’s comfort-first appeal and premium positioning should still help it attract steady interest from used luxury SUV shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Lexus RX safe?

The 2024 Lexus RX earned five-star ratings in overall and side collision protection and four-star ratings in frontal and rollover tests from NHTSA. The IIHS awarded it a Top Safety Pick rating, with Good scores in all crashworthiness evaluations except the new moderate frontal overlap test, where it received Poor.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 comes standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a rear passenger safe-exit system, and parking proximity sensors. Available upgrades include a head-up display, digital rearview mirror, surround-view camera system, semi-automated parking system, and highway driving assist with adaptive cruise and lane centring.

The main caveat is the poor IIHS result in the moderate frontal overlap test, which is worth keeping in mind if crash-test performance is a top priority for you.

Should I buy a 2024 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.29% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines comfort-focused luxury with strong fuel economy for the class.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $49,917 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $53,978 CAD average.
• It brings a redesigned cabin with strong technology and a polished, upscale feel.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the current-year market conditions and a comfort-first luxury SUV with strong efficiency. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2023 is the better value path and still delivers much of the RX’s core appeal.
