Used 2023 GMC Canyon for Sale nearLaval, QC

How much does the 2023 GMC Canyon cost?

Prices have softened 5.57% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 189 listings available, which suggests you have some room to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2023 GMC Canyon a good car?

Yes — the 2023 GMC Canyon earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Technology.

Owners consistently praise the Canyon’s luxurious interior, solid performance, easy driving character, and stylish design. It also stands out as a more polished midsize truck if you want something that feels upscale rather than purely utilitarian.

The trade-offs are clear: the price is a bit high for a used truck, and storage space underneath the seat is limited. It also fits buyers who want a well-equipped midsize pickup with a premium feel, but not necessarily the lowest entry price.

With 31.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 GMC Canyon reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels solid, dependable, and easy to live with over time. That kind of praise matters for used buyers because it suggests the Canyon is the sort of vehicle you can count on day to day.

The expert drive notes also back up that impression, describing quiet cabs and a feeling of solidity that is rare in body-on-frame vehicles. GMC’s warranty coverage includes a three-year, 60,000-kilometre basic warranty and a five-year, 100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Canyon’s premium positioning can make repairs and upkeep feel less forgiving if you buy a poorly maintained example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 GMC Canyon?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Elevation is the entry point and skips some of the Colorado’s lower-end content, while the Denali adds the nicest interior with laser-etched open-pore wood trim, leather upholstery, chrome accents, and 20-inch wheels. The AT4X is the most rugged-looking and most off-road-focused version, with a taller stance and more aggressive hardware.
• Powertrain: Every Canyon uses a 2.7-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic. In Canada, all versions are 4WD, with a single-speed transfer case on the Elevation and a two-speed transfer case on the other models.
• Safety package: The standard Canyon Pro Safety Package includes automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian braking and cyclist detection, automatic high beams, a following distance indicator, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and forward collision warning. Rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, blind-zone steering assist, rear park assist, adaptive cruise control, rear pedestrian alert, surround-view camera, and a Safety Alert Seat are added on higher trims or through packages.
• Infotainment: You get an 11.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Google Built-In. The digital instrument cluster is 8 inches on Elevation and AT4, and 11 inches on Denali and AT4X. Denali and AT4X also add a 6.3-inch head-up display and wireless phone charging.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the standard 4WD Canyon at 12.4 L/100 km combined, with 13.5 L/100 km city and 11.0 L/100 km highway. The AT4X rises to 14.3 L/100 km combined, with 14.3 L/100 km city and 14.3 L/100 km highway.

Which 2023 GMC Canyon trim should I buy?

The 2023 GMC Canyon is offered in 4 trim levels: Elevation, AT4, Denali, and AT4X.

Here's the short version:

• Elevation: This is the starting point and the best fit if you want the Canyon’s core powertrain, 4WD hardware, and standard tech without paying for the luxury or off-road extras. It makes the most sense if you value the truck’s upscale basics more than its top-end features.
• AT4: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds a more rugged personality and stronger off-road focus without jumping all the way to Denali pricing. If you want capability and a more adventurous look, this is the trim to target first.
• Denali: Choose this if you want the most upscale cabin, with leather upholstery, wood trim, chrome details, and the richest standard tech. It suits you best if comfort and presentation matter more than price.
• AT4X: This is the most serious off-road version, with front and rear electronic lockers, skid plates, 33-inch mud-terrain tyres, Multimatic DSSV dampers, and Baja drive mode. It is the right pick if you want the most capable Canyon and are willing to pay for it.

The standard Canyon Pro Safety Package is the key safety baseline, while the higher trims add more advanced driver assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 GMC Canyon?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it rewards comparison shopping more than impulse buying.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 189 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.57% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $48,412 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 GMC Canyon's resale value?

The current average of $48,542 CAD sits slightly below last year's $51,403 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Canyon is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago, which can make it harder for a seller to command a premium. If you own one, pricing pressure may continue unless your truck is especially well equipped or in excellent condition.

The Canyon’s premium positioning helps it stand out, but used resale still depends on how well it matches shopper demand for features, condition, and trim. Higher-spec versions with desirable equipment should hold attention better than stripped-down examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 GMC Canyon safe?

The 2023 GMC Canyon is not rated by IIHS or NHTSA in the available data.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard Canyon Pro Safety Package includes automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian braking and cyclist detection, automatic high beams, a following distance indicator, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and forward collision warning.

If you want more advanced assistance, the optional Safety Plus Package for Elevation and AT4 adds rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, blind-zone steering assist, and rear park assist. To get adaptive cruise control on those trims, you need the Technology Package, which also adds rear pedestrian alert and a surround-view camera system.

Those features are standard on Denali and AT4X, along with a Safety Alert Seat that vibrates when alerts are triggered. The main caveat is that some key safety features are not standard on the lower trims.

Should I buy a 2023 GMC Canyon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings a more upscale feel, stronger tech, and a more powerful standard turbo-four.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $37,672 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $48,542 CAD average.
• It offers a broader range of powertrains and trims.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $51,746 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $48,542 CAD average.
• It adds an AEV package that makes the AT4X even more off-road focused.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned Canyon with strong tech and a more premium feel, the 2023 is the right starting point. If price matters most, the 2022 is the cheaper path, while the 2024 makes sense if you want the newer off-road hardware and can stretch your budget.
