Used 2023 GMC Canyon for Sale nearBrantford, ON

How much does the 2023 GMC Canyon cost?

Prices have softened 5.99% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 194 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 GMC Canyon a good car?

Yes — the 2023 GMC Canyon earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Technology.

Owners consistently praise the luxurious interior, solid performance, ease of driving, and stylish design. Those strengths fit especially well if you want a midsize pickup that feels more premium than the norm and still brings strong everyday usability.

The main trade-offs are a high price for a used truck and limited storage space under the seat. The Canyon’s premium positioning also means you pay more for the upscale feel, even though that is part of its appeal.

With 30.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 GMC Canyon reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe the Canyon as solid and easy to live with, and the feedback points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use. The expert review also highlights a feeling of solidity and a well-matched engine-and-transmission combination, which supports confidence in how the truck should hold up over time.

GMC also backs the Canyon with a three-year, 60,000-kilometre basic warranty and a five-year, 100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that premium pricing can make repairs and depreciation sting more if you buy too high.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 GMC Canyon?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Elevation is the entry point and skips some of the nicer touches found higher up, while the Denali adds the most upscale cabin materials and the AT4X brings the most dramatic off-road-focused look and hardware. If you want the best value, the AT4 is the trim that balances capability and equipment most naturally.
• Powertrain: Every Canyon uses a 2.7-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic. In Canada, all versions are 4WD, with a single-speed transfer case on the Elevation and a two-speed transfer case on other models.
• Safety package: The standard Canyon Pro Safety Package includes automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian braking and cyclist detection, automatic high beams, a following distance indicator, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and forward collision warning. Rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, blind-zone steering assist, rear park assist, adaptive cruise control, rear pedestrian alert, surround-view camera, and a Safety Alert Seat are added on higher trims or through packages.
• Infotainment: You get an 11.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Google Built-In is included, and higher trims add an 11-inch digital instrument cluster, a 6.3-inch head-up display, wireless phone charging, and a Bose premium audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard 4WD Canyon is rated at 12.4 L/100 km combined, while the AT4X is rated at 14.3 L/100 km combined.

Which 2023 GMC Canyon trim should I buy?

The 2023 GMC Canyon is offered in 4 trim levels: Elevation, AT4, Denali, AT4X.

Here's the short version:

• Elevation: This is the most straightforward way into the Canyon, but it also leaves out some of the nicer convenience and safety upgrades found higher up. It makes sense if you want the Canyon’s core powertrain and tech without stretching too far on price.
• AT4: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more rugged personality and stronger off-road intent without jumping all the way to the top-end pricing. If you want the sweet spot between equipment and cost, this is the one to focus on.
• Denali: Choose this if you want the most upscale cabin experience, including the nicest interior materials and more standard technology. It suits you best if comfort and premium feel matter more than value.
• AT4X: This is the most capable off-road version, with serious hardware and the most adventurous character in the lineup. It is the right pick if you want the Canyon’s toughest setup and are willing to pay for it.

The higher-level Canyon Denali and AT4X include the features from the Safety Plus and Technology packages, along with a Safety Alert Seat.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 GMC Canyon?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 194 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.99% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $48,109 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 GMC Canyon's resale value?

The current average of $48,109 CAD sits slightly below last year's $51,172 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Canyon has already absorbed some of its recent depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilizes. Because the current average is still near the low end of the year-round range, there may be less room for further sharp drops than there was a year ago. Buyers who choose a well-equipped trim and keep mileage reasonable should be better positioned when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 GMC Canyon safe?

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard Canyon Pro Safety Package includes automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian braking and cyclist detection, automatic high beams, a following distance indicator, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and forward collision warning.

Some key safety features are not standard, and rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, blind-zone steering assist, rear park assist, adaptive cruise control, rear pedestrian alert, and surround-view camera require higher trims or packages. The higher-level Denali and AT4X make more of those features standard.

Should I buy a 2023 GMC Canyon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 redesign brings a more premium feel, stronger tech, and a more upscale position above the Colorado.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $37,192 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $48,109 CAD average.
• It offers a broader range of powertrains and trim levels.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $51,324 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $48,109 CAD average.
• It adds a new AEV package with extra off-road hardware.

The bottom line: If you want the newest redesign and the strongest mix of comfort, tech, and capability, the 2023 is the better target. If price matters most, the 2022 is the value play, while the 2024 makes sense if you want the added off-road hardware and can stretch your budget.
