Used 2023 Dodge Charger for Sale nearRed Deer, AB

How much does the 2023 Dodge Charger cost?

Prices are up 8.69% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 116 listings available, which suggests you still have some room to compare examples.

Is the 2023 Dodge Charger a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Dodge Charger earns a 4.5/5 user rating, and our experts give it 7.83/10.

The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

Owners repeatedly praise the Charger’s powerful performance, comfortable seating, and spacious interior. The car’s distinctive styling also comes through strongly, with many owners liking its aesthetic and feature set.

The trade-offs are familiar: the technology feels dated, fuel economy is poor, and the base engine is underwhelming.

For you, that means the Charger makes the most sense if you want a full-size sedan with presence, attitude, and a traditional muscle-car feel rather than a modern tech-first cabin. Even so, 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still some market flexibility.

Is the 2023 Dodge Charger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a car people feel good about living with over time, especially because of its strong performance, comfortable seating, and spacious interior. The same feedback also suggests buyers value the Charger’s dependable everyday appeal even when they are drawn to it for its personality.

The expert assessment also supports that sense of durability through its strong mechanical character and well-sorted drivetrain behaviour.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that age-related wear may show up in the Charger’s dated technology and feature set, so condition matters more than mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Dodge Charger?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Charger is described as a bit drab on small skinny tires, while V8-equipped versions look the part much more convincingly. The widebody Scat Pack adds flared fenders, 305-mm-wide tires, 20-inch wheels, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, black brake calipers, and a more dramatic stance.
• Powertrain: The 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 is the entry engine, while the rest of the range uses Hemi V8 power. The V6 is paired with AWD on SXT AWD and GT AWD trims, but the AWD system is described as slow to react in winter or wet conditions. The eight-speed automatic is a highlight for smoothness and quick shifts.
• Safety package: Rear parking sensors and a backup camera are standard. Forward collision warning with emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control are optional on all grades. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is optional on Hellcat models and on some lower grades via the Daytona Edition package.
• Infotainment: The Charger uses an 8.4-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, voice recognition, and SiriusXM. It does not get the latest Uconnect system, over-the-air updates, or phone-based starting.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 can deliver fuel economy as low as 7.8 L/100 km on the highway, while the 5.7-litre V8 can manage 9.4 L/100 km on a highway cruise. The Hellcat is far thirstier, with about 19 L/100 km in city driving.

Which 2023 Dodge Charger trim should I buy?

The 2023 Dodge Charger is offered in 6 trim levels: SXT AWD, GT AWD, R/T, Scat Pack, SRT Hellcat, and SRT Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak.

Here's the short version:

• SXT AWD: This is the entry point if you want the Charger’s shape and all-wheel-drive capability at the lowest rung of the range. It suits you if you care more about the car’s presence than outright speed, but the base engine is described as underwhelming.
• GT AWD: This is the better-value V6 choice if you want the same AWD setup with a bit more personality than the base trim. It still keeps the Charger’s everyday usability, but it remains a step below the V8 models in character.
• R/T: This is the first trim that gives you the 5.7-litre Hemi V8, which is a major step up in sound and feel. If you want the classic Charger experience without jumping to the most extreme versions, this is the sweet spot.
• Scat Pack: This is the best-value enthusiast trim because it adds the 6.4-litre V8, stronger braking hardware, and the most satisfying all-around performance balance. If you want the Charger at its most convincing without going full Hellcat, this is the one to target.
• SRT Hellcat: This is the outrageous choice if you want maximum straight-line drama and don’t mind the compromises that come with it. It is for buyers who want the most extreme gas-powered Charger experience.
• SRT Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak: This is the most powerful and most expensive path in the range, aimed at buyers who want the ultimate collector-style send-off rather than a rational daily driver.

For safety equipment, note that the more advanced driver-assistance features are optional rather than standard across the range.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Dodge Charger?

The market still favours sellers, so you should act selectively and move quickly when a strong example appears.

• Deal availability: 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 116 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 8.69% year-over-year.

If you find a listing below $37,246 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Dodge Charger’s resale value?

The current average of $46,667 CAD sits slightly above last year's $42,935 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Charger has held buyer interest well, even as it approaches the end of its run. For a future seller, that is a useful sign because a model with steady demand is usually easier to move without heavy discounting.

The year’s final-model status also helps keep attention on well-kept examples, especially among buyers who want a gas-powered Charger before it disappears. Strong enthusiast appeal can support pricing longer than you might expect for a discontinued model.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Dodge Charger safe?

The 2023 Dodge Charger earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

The Charger’s safety equipment includes rear parking sensors and a backup camera as standard, while forward collision warning with emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control are optional. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is also optional on Hellcat models and on some lower grades via the Daytona Edition package.

The main caveat is that the car’s age shows here too: the backup camera is described as fuzzy, and the available driver-assistance tech is limited compared with newer rivals.

Should I buy a 2023 Dodge Charger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices are up 8.69% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It is the final-year Charger, which gives it added significance as a last chance to buy a gas-powered version.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $35,524 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $46,667 CAD average.
• It offers a modern muscle-car formula with strong acceleration and surprising cornering ability.

The bottom line: If you want the last and most significant version of the gas-powered Charger, the 2023 is the one to target. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the smarter value play and still delivers the Charger’s core appeal.
