How much does the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee cost?

Prices have softened 13.11% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 585 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.86/5, and the expert rating is 8/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the luxurious feel, impressive safety features, and quality interior materials like leather. That lines up well with the Grand Cherokee’s role as a premium-leaning SUV that still suits daily driving, rough weather, and tougher terrain. It also stands out for its broad appeal: you can shop it as a comfortable family SUV, a more upscale utility vehicle, or a serious off-road machine depending on trim. Good and great deals account for 33.5% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.86/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with buyers especially appreciating the quality materials and overall satisfaction with the vehicle. The expert assessment also supports that impression by describing the Grand Cherokee as a refined, capable SUV that feels well engineered for long-term use. Jeep’s broader message here is that this redesign brings more sophistication without losing the model’s core durability and capability.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the more complex hardware on higher trims can be costlier to maintain over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Laredo is the most affordable and basic version, with cloth seats and a simpler cabin, while Summit Reserve is the most luxurious with premium quilted and stitched leather seats, heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, a McIntosh audio system, and a panoramic sunroof. Trailhawk is the off-road-focused choice with added capability hardware, while lower trims are better if you want a more straightforward daily driver.
• Powertrain: You can shop this model with a 3.6-litre V6 or a 5.7-litre V8, both paired with 4WD and an 8-speed automatic. The V6 is the more efficient choice and is the expert pick for most buyers, while the V8 adds stronger towing and more effortless power.
• Safety package: The Grand Cherokee includes blind spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, full-speed forward collision warning, Intersection Collision Assist, and Active Driving Assist with adaptive cruise control and lane-centring assistance. Some advanced features are not universal across the range, so check the trim carefully.
• Infotainment: Uconnect 5 is standard, with over-the-air updates, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa integration, SiriusXM 360L, voice recognition, and voice text reply. Most trims get an 8.4-inch touchscreen, while higher trims can upgrade to a 10.1-inch display.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates range from 11.3 L/100 km with the V6 to 14.1 L/100 km with the V8 in combined driving. The expert test also recorded 11.0 L/100 km with the V6 and 13.8 L/100 km with the V8 in its own testing.

Which 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee trim should I buy?

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee is offered in 7 trim levels: Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve.

Here's the short version:

• Laredo: This is the value-focused starting point if you want the Grand Cherokee’s design, comfort, and capability without paying for luxury extras. It keeps the cabin simpler, but it still looks and feels more expensive than its price suggests.
• Altitude: Choose this if you want a more stylish step up from Laredo without jumping too far up the price ladder. It keeps the core Grand Cherokee formula while adding more visual appeal.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more comfort and tech while staying well below the luxury end of the range. It also unlocks the optional front passenger interactive display starting here.
• Trailhawk: Pick this if off-road ability is your priority. It adds Quadra-Drive II, an electronic locking rear differential, Quadra-Lift air suspension, skid plates, all-terrain tyres, Selec-Speed off-road cruise control, and a forward-facing off-road camera.
• Overland: This trim is the right middle ground if you want more upscale equipment and the more advanced Quadra-Trac II 4WD system with low range.
• Summit: This is the luxury-leaning choice for buyers who want a more premium cabin and the option of Quadra-Drive II.
• Summit Reserve: This is the top-end pick if you want the most lavish Grand Cherokee experience, including the richest interior materials and standard Quadra-Drive II.

For safety-package shoppers, note that Active Driving Assist is part of the Grand Cherokee’s advanced driver-assistance suite, but availability can vary by trim and equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 585 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.11% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $33,822 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $33,822 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,927 CAD.

That softer pricing can be a good entry point for you as a buyer, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if values continue to ease. A vehicle that has already moved down from its prior-year average can be harder to position at a premium unless it has especially strong equipment, condition, or mileage. The Grand Cherokee’s broad appeal and premium image should help support demand, but resale will still depend heavily on trim and how well the vehicle is equipped.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee safe?

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee earns 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Jeep equips it with blind spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, full-speed forward collision warning, Intersection Collision Assist, and Active Driving Assist, which adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and lane-centring assistance. The structure also uses extensive aluminium and high-strength steel, which supports the safety story. One caveat is that the system can disconnect if curves are too tight, so you still need to stay engaged.

Should I buy a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings a major upgrade in technology and sophistication while keeping the Grand Cherokee’s core capability.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $29,478 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $33,822 CAD average.
• It is the final version of the previous-generation two-row Grand Cherokee.

The bottom line: If you want the newer design, stronger tech, and a more premium-feeling Grand Cherokee, the 2022 is the better all-around choice. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable with the older formula, the 2021 is the more price-sensitive path.
