Is the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 4.85/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its excellent value, numerous tech features, and comfortable ride, while also calling out the spacious interior and advanced safety features. That lines up well with the Santa Fe’s role as a practical family SUV with three-row seating, useful space, and a mix of convenience features without becoming overly complicated. The user feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with praise centred on comfort, value, and the sense that it delivers what buyers need day to day. That kind of trouble-free reputation matters if you want a used SUV you can count on for family duty and regular commuting.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about broad reliability concerns and more about choosing a well-maintained example that matches your expectations for power and refinement.

• Inventory: There are 388 listings available.

The current average of $26,064 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,085 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Santa Fe has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about pricing if they want a quick sale. The current market gives you a useful benchmark: if you buy well now, you may have less downside than someone who paid closer to last year's average. Strong value perception can help support demand, especially for a family SUV with broad appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.85/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.85/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $29,943 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $26,064 CAD average.
• It carries over with only minor changes and a small horsepower bump.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2022 if you want the better value and a broader pool of discounted listings. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2022 is the smarter buy; if you want the newer model year and don’t mind paying more, the 2023 is the secondary path.
