The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with praise centred on the CR-V’s practical design and everyday usability. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about finding a well-kept example with a clean service history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Honda CR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 25.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 875 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.89% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $28,882 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $28,882 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,051 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if prices stay soft. If you plan to sell later, the CR-V’s broad appeal should still help it attract shoppers, especially because it remains a practical and efficient compact crossover. The current pricing also leaves some room for depreciation to continue normalising rather than spiking upward.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 25.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.89% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $26,396 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $28,882 CAD average.
• It was a sales leader with broad appeal and strong owner praise.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $32,511 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $28,882 CAD average.
• It adds updated infotainment, safety features, and Canada’s first CR-V hybrid.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and everyday usefulness, the 2022 is the primary year to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2021 is the better value play, while the 2023 makes sense if you want the newer redesign and are willing to pay more.
