Used 2022 GMC Terrain for Sale nearOrleans, ON

How much does the 2022 GMC Terrain cost?

Prices have softened 12.74% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 363 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 GMC Terrain a good car?

Yes — the 2022 GMC Terrain earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 6.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its comfort, smooth driving experience, and easy-to-use technology, and many also like the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto setup. Owners also mention that it handles well in snowy conditions, especially with all-wheel drive, which fits the Terrain’s practical, all-weather use case. The trade-offs are sluggish performance and a cabin that can feel cheap in places, and the Terrain is also described as poor value for money. Even so, if you want a comfortable compact crossover with useful tech and winter-friendly manners, it still has appeal. About 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 GMC Terrain reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with comfort and all-weather confidence coming through as recurring strengths. The expert evaluation also describes the Terrain as smooth and comfortable to drive, with a powertrain that behaves predictably once it is rolling. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Terrain’s weaker value proposition and modest performance may matter more as mileage and repair exposure build.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 GMC Terrain?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SLE and SLT are more affordable, while the SLT comes with standard front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive is optional. The AT4 adds a bolder grille, black 17-inch alloy wheels, sport-terrain tyres, a steel front skid plate, and a more rugged look, while the Denali adds a layer of luxury. The base trim’s equipment is lighter, so make sure the features you want are actually included.
• Powertrain: Every 2022 Terrain uses a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic. It is smooth enough once underway, but acceleration is delayed off the line and the engine is not especially quick.
• Safety package: Every Terrain gets GMC Pro Safety Package standard, with forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a following distance indicator. GMC Pro Safety Plus Package adds adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, rear parking sensors, and a Safety Alert Seat; it is standard on Denali and optional on SLE, SLT, and AT4.
• Infotainment: SLE trim gets a 7-inch touchscreen, while SLT, AT4, and Denali get an 8-inch high-definition touchscreen. Both systems include Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM, GMC Connected Services through OnStar, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. With the larger screen, connected navigation, natural voice recognition, and a Bose premium sound system are available.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada rating is 9.6 L/100 km in the city, 8.3 on the highway, and 9.0 combined with AWD.

Which 2022 GMC Terrain trim should I buy?

The 2022 GMC Terrain is offered in 4 trim levels: SLE, SLT, AT4, Denali.

Here's the short version:

• SLE: This is the most affordable path into the Terrain, and it gives you the standard safety package plus the 7-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It makes the most sense if you want the Terrain’s core comfort and tech without paying for extras.
• SLT: This is the best-value trim if you want a more upscale feel, because it upgrades you to the 8-inch touchscreen and keeps the Terrain’s easy-to-use tech and comfort focus. It is also the trim where front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive available if you want it.
• AT4: Choose this if you want the rugged styling, standard all-wheel drive, sport-terrain tyres, and skid plate. It looks the part, but the content makes clear that its off-road image outpaces its actual capability.
• Denali: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with the most premium positioning and standard GMC Pro Safety Plus Package. It suits you best if you want the most features and the upscale trim identity.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, while the more advanced driver-assistance features are bundled into GMC Pro Safety Plus Package on lower trims and included on Denali.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 GMC Terrain?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right example.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 363 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.74% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $24,497 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $24,497 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,072 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Terrain has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. It also means your resale outcome will depend heavily on how well you control your purchase cost today. Because the model has a clear value gap versus its average price a year ago, there may be less room for dramatic further drops than there was before. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 GMC Terrain safe?

The 2022 GMC Terrain earns mostly “Good” crash-test scores from the IIHS, but it also receives a “Marginal” rating in the new side-impact test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2022 Terrain has GMC Pro Safety Package standard, with forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a following distance indicator. GMC Pro Safety Plus Package adds adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, rear parking sensors, and a Safety Alert Seat; it is standard on Denali and optional on SLE, SLT, and AT4. A lane-centring function is not available.

Should I buy a 2022 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 adds a new AT4 model with standard all-wheel drive, sport-terrain tyres, and a steel front skid plate.

The bottom line: The 2022 Terrain makes sense if you want the updated look, the AT4 trim, and a used price that has already come down meaningfully. If you are shopping mainly on value, a lower-priced nearby year may be the better path, but the 2022 is the one to target if you want the refreshed styling and can find a well-priced listing.

How does the 2022 GMC Terrain compare to the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox?

Our experts score the 2022 GMC Terrain 6.7/10 and the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox 6.8/10. The Terrain leans more heavily into rugged styling and a premium image, while the Equinox is the slightly better value on paper. Both use the same basic engine output, but the Terrain’s stronger feature set and AT4 personality are offset by its higher price and weaker value proposition. If you want the more affordable choice, the Equinox has the edge; if you prefer the GMC’s look and trim identity, the Terrain is the one to consider.
