CarGurus Analysis: 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Summary
With 118 currently listed for sale and an average price of $54,508 CAD, 20.3% of 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty 4.88 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty stands out as a heavy-duty truck that is built for serious work but has been shaped to feel far more modern and comfortable than older versions of the nameplate. It combines strong towing and payload capability with a more refined cabin, and Ford has packed it with technology that makes it easier to live with day to day. Even the base model comes with an 8.0-inch infotainment screen, while higher trims can get a 12.0-inch display, a configurable 12.0-inch digital gauge cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 5G WiFi hotspot. Ford also added useful work-focused features such as onboard scales, trailer-aware surround-view monitoring, adaptive cruise control with lane centring, trailer navigation, tailgate-down backup cameras and sensing units, and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist.
Capability remains the F-250’s defining trait. The available high-output 6.7-litre Power Stroke turbodiesel V8 produces 1,200 pound-feet of torque and allows the single-rear-wheel truck to tow up to 9,980 kilograms with a conventional hitch or 10,430 kilograms with a gooseneck hitch. Even the least capable version can tow more than 6,350 kilograms with a conventional hitch, and payload ranges from around 770 kilograms to over 1,630 kilograms. The truck also comes with a broad spread of trims, from the work-oriented XL to the luxury-focused Limited, and the off-road Tremor package adds hardware such as an electronically locking rear differential, a front limited-slip differential, off-road shocks, skid plates, 35-inch all-terrain tyres, and trail and rock crawl control.
For buyers, that mix of brute strength and modern convenience is the appeal. The 2022 model is still very much a workhorse, but it is also comfortable enough for commuting and long days behind the wheel. The main trade-off is that this kind of capability does not come cheaply, and the truck’s size means it still demands attention in tight spaces.

Traded in a Cadillac so I’m bias … Truck is nice but features are not up there with Cadillac… No heated steering wheel, b/o sounds system is quiet and very inadequate, back seat features lacking, for an ultimate king ranch is felt like a step down. For a 80k+truck That’s the negative I’m have owned a lot of trucks and the ford f250 king ranch is one of the best trucks I’ve ever owned If you don’t have the spoiled attitude I have buy it you will love it ! The ford 3 year 36k warranty sucks ! On such an expensive vehicle you would expect more … but again it’s a nice truck

Exceptional vehicle. I have been a Ford and Chevy vehicle owner for many years. I didn’t know what I was missing! This vehicle is beefy and looks awesome. I have got looks and stares and I’ve only owned it a couple of days!

| Year-Round High | $64,363 CAD |

There are 119 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty a good car?
Yes — the 4.88/5 user rating points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its robust performance, impressive towing capacity, and advanced technology features, while also highlighting the spacious interior and powerful engine. For you, that makes sense if you want a heavy-duty truck that can handle serious work but still feels modern and comfortable for daily use. With 21.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty reliable?
Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable and trouble-free in everyday use, especially for buyers who plan to keep it for the long haul. The main ownership risk for used buyers is less about the truck’s core capability and more about finding one that has been maintained properly given its demanding work-truck life.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to be choosy without waiting forever.
- Deal availability: 21.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 119 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.55% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $54,497 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty's resale value?
The current average of $54,514 CAD sits slightly below last year's $61,633 CAD.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable point. If you sell later, the softer starting price may limit how much depreciation you can absorb, especially if the truck is used hard or has higher kilometres. On the other hand, strong demand for heavy-duty trucks can still support values when the vehicle is well kept and properly equipped.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 21.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.55% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $62,518 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $54,514 CAD average.
- It brings a modest refresh with updated styling and improved tech.
The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the stronger value play and are comfortable with a truck that already delivers the core Super Duty strengths. Consider the 2023 if you want the newer version and are willing to pay more for the update; price-sensitive buyers should stay focused on the 2022.
