Used 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty cost?

Prices have softened 14.31% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 71 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers comparing used heavy-duty trucks.

Is the 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty earns a 4.75/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

Drivers consistently praise its power, comfort, towing capability, smooth transmission, and strong diesel engine. That lines up with the truck’s use case as a serious workhorse that still aims to feel balanced for daily driving and spacious enough for passengers and gear.

The trade-offs are clear: the interior materials feel cheap, and the cabin lacks the refinement you’ll find in some other heavy-duty pickups. Advanced safety features are not standard, so you may need to shop higher trims or optioned examples if you want a more fully equipped truck.

With 22.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is enough market activity to give you some room to compare examples carefully.

Is the 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a truck that feels dependable in the ways that matter most to used buyers: strong power delivery, comfort, and towing confidence. Reviewers also highlight the smooth transmission and the diesel engine as strengths, which supports the impression that this is a truck you can count on for demanding work.

The expert assessment also describes it as a well-balanced heavy-duty pickup with serious capability, which reinforces the idea that it is built for long-haul use rather than short-term novelty. The cost-effectiveness commentary also notes that these trucks are designed for the long-haul.

For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about outright fragility and more about finding an example that has been maintained properly, especially given the truck’s work-first mission and complex equipment on higher trims.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XL is the most basic work-truck version, with a black grille, black bumpers, 17-inch steel wheels, vinyl upholstery, a 2.3-inch in-dash screen, and an AM/FM/MP3 stereo with four speakers. The XLT adds brightwork, 18-inch alloy wheels, cloth seating, power doors and locks, satellite radio, a wall-style power outlet, a 4.2-inch colour screen, and an 8-inch SYNC 3 touchscreen. The Lariat brings leather front seats, power-adjustable front seats, and a larger instrument display, while the King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited add progressively more luxury and convenience. If you want the best value, the XLT is the trim that most clearly adds everyday comfort without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Powertrain: The standard engine is a 6.2-litre gasoline V8, and Ford also offers a 7.3-litre gas V8 and a 6.7-litre Power Stroke turbodiesel V8. Both gas engines use a 10-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel uses a six-speed TorqShift automatic. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and four-wheel drive with low range is optional. If you need maximum towing strength, the diesel is the standout choice.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes front- and side-impact airbags, trailer sway control, hill start assist, and AdvanceTrac traction control with roll stability control. Optional driver-assistance features include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera system. The base truck does not come standard with the more advanced safety tech.
• Infotainment: The base XL gets a 2.3-inch in-dash screen, while the XLT adds an 8-inch touchscreen with SYNC 3. The tech setup also includes Bluetooth, USB-C connectivity, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and FordPass Connect with a WiFi hotspot for up to 10 devices. Higher trims add more convenience and connectivity features.
• Fuel efficiency: Fuel-consumption figures are not stated for this heavy-duty pickup.

Which 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty trim should I buy?

The 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty is offered in 6 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the work-focused starting point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest entry price and do not need much beyond the basics. It is the least expensive way into the lineup, but you give up a lot of comfort and convenience equipment.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds cloth seating, power accessories, satellite radio, a larger display, and SYNC 3 without pushing into luxury-truck pricing. If you want a used F-250 that feels properly equipped, this is the trim to target first.
• Lariat: This is the right step up if you want leather, power-adjustable front seats, and a more upscale cabin without going all the way to the premium trims. It suits buyers who use the truck daily and want more comfort on longer drives.
• King Ranch: This trim is for you if you want a distinctive look and a richer interior, plus features like voice-activated navigation, heated-and-cooled front seats, heated rear seats in Crew Cab models, remote start, and a heated steering wheel.
• Platinum: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with Multi-Contour seats and a more premium exterior and interior presentation. It makes sense if comfort and refinement matter more than keeping costs down.
• Limited: This is the top-end option, adding the most upscale cabin treatment and a twin-panel moonroof. It is the trim to consider if you want the most feature-rich F-250 available.

The safety content also notes that advanced safety features are not standard, so check carefully for optioned driver-assistance equipment on any trim you consider.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and compare examples.

• Deal availability: 22.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 71 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.31% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $43,203 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty's resale value?

The current average of $43,915 CAD sits slightly below last year's $51,250 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means sellers may need to price more competitively to stand out. If you own one, the softer trend can reduce your leverage unless your truck is especially well equipped, lightly used, or in strong condition.

Even so, the F-250’s broad appeal as a capable heavy-duty truck helps support demand, especially for well-kept examples with desirable powertrains and trims. Trucks with the right equipment and a clean history should still attract attention from shoppers who need serious capability.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty safe?

The 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty has not been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include front- and side-impact airbags, trailer sway control, hill start assist, and AdvanceTrac traction control with roll stability control. Ford also offers a long list of optional driver-assistance features, including forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera system.

The main caveat is that advanced safety technology is not standard, so you should verify which features are fitted on any used example you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 22.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 model year adds a second gas engine option and the Tremor off-road package, while still delivering the well-balanced heavy-duty character that defines this truck.

The bottom line: If you want a used heavy-duty pickup with strong owner satisfaction, broad capability, and a softer price trend, the 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty is a sensible year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep shopping the market closely and focus on well-equipped examples that land near the lower end of the year-round range.
