Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.28/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $35,424 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $41,286 CAD average.
• It has loyal owners and broad practical appeal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $46,417 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $41,286 CAD average.
• It adds upgraded Duramax diesel power and a new ZR2 Bison off-road configuration.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around pick if you want the refreshed cabin and strong owner satisfaction without paying 2023 money. If your priority is saving cash, the 2021 is the smarter value play; if you want newer-year upgrades and are willing to spend more, the 2023 is the premium alternative.
