What is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500's resale value?

The current average of $40,293 CAD sits slightly below last year's $46,376 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer resale environment than owners saw a year ago. If you buy now, your long-term value will depend partly on how well the truck holds buyer interest as the market normalises. Strong demand for well-equipped full-size pickups should help, but the current trend still favours shoppers more than sellers.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $35,463 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $40,293 CAD average.
• It offers a proven package with strong sales appeal and loyal owner support.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $46,018 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $40,293 CAD average.
• It adds stronger diesel power and a more trail-ready off-road option.

The 2022 is the best all-around pick if you want the refreshed cabin and modern features without stepping up to the pricier 2023. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value path; if you want newer equipment and are willing to pay more, the 2023 is the upgrade route.
