How much does the 2021 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have softened 4.76% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 97 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Toyota Tundra earns a 4.55/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its spaciousness, powerful performance, and reliability, while the smooth ride and comfort features also come through strongly. For you, that means this truck makes the most sense if you want a full-size pickup focused on towing, hauling, and getting work done rather than chasing the newest in-car technology. The market also shows 42.3% of listings as good or great deals, which supports its appeal if you’re shopping carefully.

Is the 2021 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.55/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to reliability, durability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, with many reviewers also highlighting the truck’s simple, quality construction. Toyota’s long-running formula and proven design help reinforce that dependable character, and the expert review also frames it as a rugged pickup that can take some abuse. If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is that age-related wear may matter more than cutting-edge complexity.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Toyota Tundra?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Double Cab includes standard 18-inch alloy wheels, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, power-adjustable heated side mirrors, and heated front seats. Higher grades add more comfort and visual upgrades, so you should pay close attention to whether the truck has the equipment you want from the start.
• Powertrain: You get Toyota’s 5.7-litre V8 with 391 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. In Canada, four-wheel drive with low range is standard, and the truck is tuned more for confident, steady work than for the latest efficiency-focused hardware.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense P is standard and includes forward-collision warning and avoidance, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. Blind-spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, and rear cross-traffic alert are optional, so check whether a used example has those extras.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, multiple USB ports, and Bluetooth connectivity. The system is straightforward to use and includes redundant hard buttons, while navigation is available.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada ratings are 18.0 L/100 km in the city, 14.2 L/100 km on the highway, and 16.3 L/100 km combined. In mixed driving, the test result was 17.0 L/100 km.

Which 2021 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2021 Toyota Tundra is offered in 6 trim levels: Double Cab, CrewMax SR5, CrewMax Platinum, TRD Offroad, TRD Offroad Premium, and TRD Pro.

Here's the short version:

• Double Cab: This is the entry point and gives you the core Tundra formula with standard heated front seats, heated mirrors, and the 8-inch touchscreen. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the truck and can live without the extra comfort and appearance upgrades.
• CrewMax SR5: This is the best-value choice if you want the roomier crew cab layout and a more family-friendly setup without jumping into the pricier luxury trims. It also serves as the starting point for the Trail Special Edition package.
• CrewMax Platinum: This trim adds a blacked-out grille, chrome heated power-folding memory mirrors, heated and ventilated front seats, leather seatback upholstery, and a 10-way adjustable driver’s seat with memory. Choose it if you want the most comfort-focused version of the Tundra.
• TRD Offroad: This package adds Bilstein shocks, 18-inch off-road alloys with all-terrain tires, a power moonroof, and LED headlamps and fog lamps. It suits you if you want a more rugged setup without going all the way to the top performance-oriented package.
• TRD Offroad Premium: This version builds on the off-road package with a spray-in bedliner, blind spot monitor, leather seats, and on-board navigation. It is the better pick if you want the off-road hardware plus more everyday convenience.
• TRD Pro: This is the most aggressive package, with a 5 cm lift, Fox off-road shock absorbers, all-terrain tires, beefed-up skid plates, a TRD exhaust, a power-adjustable passenger seat, and a 12-speaker JBL audio system. It is the right choice if you want the most capability and the most distinctive look.

Toyota Safety Sense P is standard, while blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert remain optional on some versions.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Toyota Tundra?

It looks like a buyer-friendly moment, especially if you’re comparing listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 42.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 97 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.76% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $46,443 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $46,552 CAD sits slightly below last year's $48,876 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favourable for buyers, which can make future resale more competitive if you purchase at the right price. For a seller, that means your return will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the truck is equipped. Stronger trims and well-kept examples should hold attention better than bare-bones trucks with higher wear.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.55/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 42.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.55/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the proven V8, standard Toyota Safety Sense P, and updated infotainment.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $44,029 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $46,552 CAD average.
• It leans heavily on reliability and long-term durability.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $47,101 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $46,552 CAD average.
• It brings a fully redesigned Tundra with broader updates across the lineup.

The bottom line: If you want the proven old-school Tundra formula with updated tech and a softer market, the 2021 is the sweet spot. If price matters most, the 2020 is the cheaper route; if you want the newest design, move up to the 2022.
