Used 2021 Subaru Forester for Sale nearAjax, ON

How much does the 2021 Subaru Forester cost?

Prices have softened 4.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 183 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Subaru Forester a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its spacious feel, safety features, and reliability, and many also like its attractive design and good handling. That lines up well with its practical compact-SUV role for buyers who want a trustworthy family vehicle with all-weather confidence. With 30.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2021 Subaru Forester reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, and the model’s reputation is reinforced by comments about it being trustworthy and dependable for everyday use. That said, some early examples in this generation had minor CVT issues, so a careful inspection and service-history review still matter.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the concept of the vehicle and more about how well a specific example has been maintained.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Subaru Forester?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right example.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 183 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.41% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,015 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Subaru Forester's resale value?

The current average of $26,015 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,216 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently today but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you keep the vehicle in strong condition and maintain it properly, you should be better positioned to protect value over time. Demand should remain supported by the Forester’s practical reputation and broad appeal to used-SUV shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $29,643 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $26,015 CAD average.
• It adds a Wilderness trim for more off-road capability.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2021 if you want the better value and are focused on everyday practicality, safety, and owner satisfaction. If you want the newer model’s added capability and are willing to pay more, the 2022 is the better secondary path for buyers who prioritise extra utility.
