Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Subaru Forester?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a solid pool of value-oriented options.
• Inventory: There are 220 listings available, so you have enough supply to compare prices and trims carefully.

If you find a listing below $22,613 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Subaru Forester's resale value?

The current average of $22,613 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,612 CAD.

That price movement suggests the model has become more accessible on the used market, which can help you buy in at a lower cost today. For future resale, the softer current pricing means your upside may be more limited if the market stays steady. Even so, a well-kept Forester should remain appealing to shoppers who value practicality, safety, and all-weather confidence. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Forester is the better pick if you want a practical, well-liked compact SUV with strong value and a healthy share of attractive listings. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, price, and maintenance history.
