Used 2021 Honda Pilot for Sale nearBarrie, ON

How much does the 2021 Honda Pilot cost?

Prices have softened 14.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 234 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Honda Pilot a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Honda Pilot earns a 4.86/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its spaciousness, smooth ride, and range of features, and they also value the available technology and safety equipment. That lines up with the Pilot’s family-focused role as a midsize three-row crossover SUV that prioritizes everyday usefulness, comfort, and driving enjoyment over flashy styling. It also helps that the model’s utility and overall value come through clearly in owner feedback.

With 25.2% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.86/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable, long-lasting, and worth counting on, with reliability and durability coming through in the way shoppers describe it. The expert assessment also reinforces that impression by framing the Pilot as a known quantity that should be reliable and last a long time.

Honda’s reputation for value and durability is part of the appeal here, and the Pilot’s straightforward mechanical setup should help reduce ownership surprises for used buyers. Even so, you should still verify maintenance history and overall condition, since long-term ownership risk always depends on how the previous owner treated the vehicle.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Honda Pilot?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Pilot lineup includes LX, EX, EX-L Navi, Touring, and Black Edition. The base trims are more basic, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience equipment; the Touring and Black Edition are the most feature-rich choices.
• Powertrain: Every Pilot uses a 3.5-litre V6 with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic and torque-vectoring all-wheel drive. It feels smooth, refined, and quick enough for family duty.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic warning start with the Touring trim.
• Infotainment: Most trims get an 8-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, text-messaging support, satellite radio, and HondaLink. Wireless phone charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, premium audio, and rear-seat entertainment are reserved for higher trims.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says it should use 11.0 L/100 km in combined driving, and the test vehicle averaged 10.9 L/100 km.

Which 2021 Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2021 Honda Pilot is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, EX, EX-L Navi, Touring, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Pilot’s core space, V6 power, and standard safety tech at the lowest price. It’s the least expensive way into the model, but you give up some of the convenience and premium touches found higher up.
• EX: This is the better everyday pick if you want a more complete family SUV without stretching too far. It adds useful equipment over the LX and keeps the Pilot’s strong utility and comfort focus intact.
• EX-L Navi: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds leather and built-in navigation while staying below the more expensive Touring. If you want a nicer cabin without paying for rear-seat entertainment and other extras, this is the sweet spot.
• Touring: This trim is for you if you want the most family-friendly convenience features, including wireless phone charging, a premium audio system, a Wi-Fi hotspot, rear-seat entertainment, and Cabin Talk. It also adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic warning.
• Black Edition: Choose this if you want the most fully loaded Pilot with the blacked-out appearance and exclusive interior treatment. It’s the top-end choice, but it makes the most sense if you care about the look and the extra equipment rather than value.

Starting with the Touring trim, the Pilot also adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic warning.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Honda Pilot?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 25.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 234 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.65% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,179 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

Is the 2021 Honda Pilot safe?

The 2021 Honda Pilot earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA despite four-star ratings for front-passenger protection in a frontal impact. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it its highest “good” ratings except for an “acceptable” score for front passenger small overlap frontal-impact protection, and the standard headlights also earn an “acceptable” rating while higher-trim headlights earn a “good” rating.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on every Pilot and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist. Starting with the Touring trim, you also get blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic warning.

One caveat is that the system is an older version of Honda Sensing, so its operation is not as smooth or refined as newer setups. The lane-departure warning system also uses an obvious steering-wheel wobble that may feel intrusive to some drivers.

Should I buy a 2021 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 25.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 stands out for its strong mix of interior utility, smooth powertrain behaviour, and useful technology.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $30,014 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $32,179 CAD average.
• It remains a versatile, comfortable three-row SUV with lots of cargo space and an adult-friendly third row.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced choice, the 2021 is the stronger pick because it combines solid owner satisfaction, softer pricing, and a well-rounded family-SUV package. If your priority is saving money, the 2020 is the more budget-friendly route and still delivers the Pilot’s core space and practicality.

The current average of $32,179 CAD sits slightly below last year's $37,703 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has cooled enough to improve your negotiating position, especially if you’re shopping for a clean, well-equipped example. For a future seller, the lower entry price can mean less upside than when values were higher, but the Pilot’s broad appeal should still help support demand. If you buy well now and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you should be able to protect a meaningful share of its value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
