Used 2021 Honda CR-V for Sale nearOttawa, ON

How much does the 2021 Honda CR-V cost?

Prices have softened 13.11% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 769 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Honda CR-V a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Honda CR-V earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the spacious and comfortable interior, excellent fuel economy, and strong safety features. The CR-V also fits well if you want a practical compact SUV with broad mainstream appeal and easy day-to-day usability.

The market also shows 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Honda CR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle that many owners find reliable and dependable over time, with several describing it as a model they can count on. That same long-term satisfaction is reinforced by the overall ownership experience, especially for buyers who value a familiar, low-drama compact SUV.

The CR-V’s standard safety equipment and straightforward powertrain help support confidence in everyday use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that some examples may show the usual wear-and-tear concerns that come with high-mileage family SUVs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Honda CR-V?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the most basic version, and it misses blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Higher trims add more upscale cabin materials, including cloth-and-leatherette or leather, plus wood panels and more chrome.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses the same 1.5-litre turbo four-cylinder engine with 190 horsepower and a CVT. It is tuned for smooth, steady acceleration rather than quick passing power.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on every trim and includes a multi-angle rearview camera, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and auto high-beam headlamps. Blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is not on the LX.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 7-inch high-definition touchscreen with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SMS text messaging functions. Higher trims add more audio features, with navigation reserved for the Touring and Black Edition.
• Fuel efficiency: The FWD model is rated as low as 8.3 L/100 km city, 7.0 highway, and 7.7 combined. AWD models are rated at 8.7 L/100 km city, 7.4 highway, and 8.1 combined.

Which 2021 Honda CR-V trim should I buy?

The 2021 Honda CR-V is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it is the one trim that misses blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. It makes sense only if you want the lowest starting point and are comfortable with the most basic equipment.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim because it adds blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert while keeping the CR-V’s core strengths intact. It also gets HD radio, making it a smart middle-ground choice.
• EX: This trim builds on the Sport with more comfort and convenience equipment, including a better-equipped cabin and additional charging and connectivity features.
• EX-L: This is the step up if you want a more premium feel, with leather and a richer audio setup. It suits you if cabin comfort matters more than keeping the price down.
• Touring: This is the most fully equipped version, adding navigation, a wireless phone charger, and the strongest audio system. It is the right pick if you want the most technology and convenience.

Honda’s safety package is standard across the range, but the LX is the only trim without blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Honda CR-V?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 769 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.11% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,680 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $25,680 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,555 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can put some pressure on future resale expectations if you plan to sell soon. If you buy at the current average, you may have less immediate upside than a seller who bought before the recent softening.

Still, the CR-V’s broad popularity helps support demand in the used market. A model with strong owner satisfaction can remain attractive to shoppers even when prices ease.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Honda CR-V safe?

The 2021 Honda CR-V earned both a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and an IIHS Top Safety Pick award.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on every trim and includes a multi-angle rearview camera, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and auto high-beam headlamps. Blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard from the Sport trim upward, but not on the LX.

The main caveat is that it did not earn the higher IIHS Top Safety Pick+ designation because of lower headlight scores and the updated side crash test. It also received an Acceptable rating for LATCH ease of use.

Should I buy a 2021 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year combines strong safety, broad popularity, and a well-rounded ownership experience.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $25,108 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $25,680 CAD average.
• It offers a comfortable, capable crossover package with improved fuel efficiency and better value.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the better all-around pick if you want the strongest mix of safety, satisfaction, and market availability. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2020 is the more budget-friendly alternative and still delivers the CR-V’s core strengths.
