Used 2020 RAM 1500 for Sale nearRichmond Hill, ON

How much does the 2020 RAM 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 12.10% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,721 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 RAM 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 2020 RAM 1500 earns a 4.75/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its luxurious feel, smooth ride, powerful engine, and spacious interior. That lines up well with the truck’s upscale, polished character and its appeal if you want a pickup that feels more refined than purely utilitarian.

The main trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard, and some owners mention Bluetooth connectivity issues and limited storage. Even so, the overall package fits buyers who want a comfortable half-ton truck with strong everyday usability.

Only 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is somewhat selective rather than deeply discounted.

Is the 2020 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels luxurious, smooth, and comfortable, which usually supports confidence in day-to-day ownership. The review summary also highlights a powerful engine and spacious cabin, both of which reinforce the sense that this is a truck built to be lived with over time.

From the expert side, the diesel and eTorque systems are described as meaningful improvements, and the updated powertrain delivery suggests a well-developed mechanical package. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which is a nice ownership perk.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about choosing the right configuration and checking that the truck’s tech and equipment suit your needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 RAM 1500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tradesman starts with a 5-inch touchscreen, vinyl upholstery and flooring, a bench seat, and steel wheels, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience. The Big Horn brings more available equipment, and the Laramie and above add the richer cabin and convenience features many shoppers will want.
• Powertrain: You can get the 3.6-litre V6 with eTorque, the 5.7-litre Hemi V8, or the 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6. The diesel is notable for its torque and efficiency, but the expert notes that it still feels like a diesel and can show turbo lag.
• Safety package: The available driver-assistance suite includes adaptive cruise control with forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and a self-parking system with a 360-degree camera. Some of these features are not standard and are limited to higher trims.
• Infotainment: The truck offers a 5-inch touchscreen on lower trims, an 8.4-inch touchscreen on mid and upper trims, and a 12-inch tablet-style touchscreen on higher-spec versions. Wireless charging is available, and the system supports smartphone integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The 3.6-litre V6 with 4WD is rated at 12.2 L/100 km city, 9.7 L/100 km highway, and 11.1 L/100 km combined. The 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 with 4WD is rated at 11.1 L/100 km city, 8.0 L/100 km highway, and 9.7 L/100 km combined.

Which 2020 RAM 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2020 RAM 1500 is offered in 6 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Rebel, Laramie, Longhorn, Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the value-focused starting point if you want the truck’s capability without paying for luxury extras. It gives you the basics, including a rear-view camera, push-button ignition, and the 5-inch Uconnect touchscreen, but it is clearly the most work-oriented trim.
• Big Horn: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more polished feel and opens the door to desirable options like the 8.4-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and air suspension. If you want a smarter balance of price and equipment, this is the one to watch.
• Rebel: Choose this if you want the more aggressive off-road character, with a lifted suspension, off-road tires, skid plates, tow hooks, and a more rugged look. It also gains diesel availability this year.
• Laramie: This is the comfort-first choice, with leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, driver memory, parking sensors, and a better stereo. It suits you if you want a more premium daily driver.
• Longhorn: This trim leans into luxury with upgraded leather, wood trim, heated and ventilated rear seats, navigation, and more exterior chrome and convenience touches. It is the right pick if cabin ambience matters most.
• Limited: This is the top luxury trim, with standard air suspension, premium leather, power-retractable side steps, and advanced safety upgrades. It is the most complete choice if you want the highest-spec RAM 1500 experience.

The safety package is not standard across the lineup, so if driver aids matter to you, focus on the trims and option groups that include them.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,721 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.10% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $31,374 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $31,430 CAD sits slightly below last year's $35,758 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the truck easier to buy now but may also mean future sellers face more competition. If you own one, the softer pricing trend means resale value depends more on condition, trim, and equipment than on broad market momentum.

The good news is that strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when you eventually sell. Well-equipped examples with the right powertrain and desirable safety or tech features should hold buyer interest better than stripped-down trucks.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 RAM 1500 safe?

The 2020 RAM 1500 earns a Top Safety Pick Plus from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The available driver-assistance suite includes adaptive cruise control with forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and a self-parking system with a 360-degree camera. However, many of these features are not standard, and some are limited to Laramie and above.

One important caveat is that the IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus result applies only to the Crew Cab with all active safety equipment and optional LED lights. That means you should verify the exact configuration if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2020 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The EcoDiesel returns for every trim, broadening your powertrain choices.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $32,880 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $31,430 CAD average.
• It adds the TRX, a high-performance off-road trim.

The bottom line: If you want the better value and broader diesel availability, the 2020 is the smarter buy. If you specifically want the TRX’s high-performance personality, the 2021 is the one to consider, but you will pay more for it.
