This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2017 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $19,626 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,930 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the truck easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at the right price, you reduce the risk of being caught in further depreciation. The strong owner feedback also helps support demand, especially among shoppers who value comfort and refinement in a used full-size pickup.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a strong choice if you want a used full-size truck with a comfortable ride, a well-finished cabin, and broad configuration flexibility. If your priority is value, the 2017 makes sense as the primary target; if you’re especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a similar truck is listed at a lower entry point.
