Is the 2020 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Kia Sorento earns a 5/5 user rating, and it fits well if you want a practical, value-focused midsize SUV with family-friendly flexibility. The overview points to a more substantial third-generation design with improved interior quality, more passenger space, and a broad spread of equipment and powertrains, so you can choose the setup that best matches your needs. It also stands out as one of the more affordable ways to get a three-row SUV. With 34.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a vehicle that balances practicality, equipment, and flexibility, which can be appealing if you want a used SUV that feels well thought out rather than overly complicated. Its broad powertrain range and available safety and technology features also point to a model that was designed to serve a wide range of family needs. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing the wrong configuration for your priorities, since the base engine may feel underpowered and the V6 trades efficiency for stronger performance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Kia Sorento?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 394 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.77% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,676 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $17,767 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,092 CAD.

That kind of price movement suggests the Sorento has become more accessible on the used market, which can help you buy in at a lower cost today. For a future seller, it also means resale expectations should be grounded in current market softness rather than peak pricing. If demand stays steady, a well-priced example should still attract attention, especially if it is presented cleanly and maintained well.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Sorento makes the most sense if you want a value-oriented three-row SUV with a strong satisfaction signal and a market that still offers some deal potential. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year may also be worth a look, but the 2020 is the better fit when you want a practical, flexible choice with solid used-market appeal.
