Used 2022 Kia Sorento for Sale near Manitoba

How much does the 2022 Kia Sorento cost?

Prices have softened 14.21% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 316 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of choice in the used market.

Is the 2022 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Kia Sorento earns a 4.64/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its modern design, spacious interior, and family-friendly layout, including third-row seating. It also stands out for its versatile cabin and strong fuel-economy appeal, especially if you want a practical SUV that can serve commuting, errands, and road trips well. That said, the third row is not a major strength for regular adult use, so it fits best if you want occasional extra seating rather than a true people-mover.

With 30.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive example.

Is the 2022 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 4.64/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for the Sorento’s modern design, family-friendly usability, and overall satisfaction over time. The expert evaluation also highlights solid construction and a cabin that feels well put together, which supports confidence in day-to-day durability. Kia also includes modern safety and convenience technology that can make ownership feel reassuring over the long haul.

For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about basic dependability and more about choosing the right trim and equipment level so you do not end up with a version that feels too sparse for your needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia Sorento?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LX+ is the most stripped-back version, and the owner feedback suggests it can feel short on features and comfort compared with other trims. Higher trims add more of the upscale feel and equipment that make the Sorento easier to live with.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.5-litre four-cylinder is described as unremarkable and sluggish, while the turbocharged 2.5-litre is much more satisfying. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions are also part of the lineup if efficiency matters more to you.
• Safety package: The Sorento offers features such as Junction Assist, rear-seat reminder, Blind View Monitor on the SX, and Highway Driving Assist. The Blind View Monitor is exclusive to the SX, so lower trims miss out on that feature.
• Infotainment: LX+, LX Premium, X-Line, and EX use an 8-inch touchscreen, while other trims get a 10.25-inch display with navigation, satellite radio, Kia Connect services, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The larger screen requires a cable for app connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says the base engine should use 9.7 L/100 km in combined driving, while the turbo engine is rated at 9.9 L/100 km. The hybrid is rated at 6.6 L/100 km, and the plug-in hybrid returns 3.0 Le/100 km in combined driving.

Which 2022 Kia Sorento trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia Sorento is offered in 4 trim levels: LX+, LX Premium, X-Line, and EX.

Here's the short version:

• LX+: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Sorento’s core space and style at the lowest price, but it is also the trim most likely to feel basic if you want a richer feature set.
• LX Premium: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds useful everyday upgrades, including a wireless phone charger and a more complete comfort-and-convenience package.
• X-Line: This trim is the step up if you want the stronger turbocharged engine and a more distinctive look, making it a better fit if you care about performance feel and presence.
• EX: This is the trim to consider if you want a more upscale, well-equipped Sorento and are willing to pay more for the added content.

The safety package includes features such as Junction Assist, rear-seat reminder, and Highway Driving Assist, while Blind View Monitor is exclusive to the SX.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia Sorento?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 316 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.21% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $28,103 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $28,154 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,818 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means sellers may need to price more competitively to stand out. If you own one and plan to sell later, the current trend shows that values have already adjusted downward, so future resale will depend heavily on trim, condition, mileage, and equipment. Well-equipped versions should hold up better than sparse examples because they appeal to a broader pool of shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Kia Sorento safe?

The 2022 Sorento earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the IIHS and a four-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA. In NHTSA testing, it earns four-star ratings for frontal-impact protection for the driver and front passenger, and for rollover resistance, while all other assessments are five-star ratings.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Sorento includes features such as rear-seat reminder, Junction Assist, Blind View Monitor on the SX, and Highway Driving Assist. Highway Driving Assist combines adaptive cruise control with lane keeping assist to help maintain speed and lane position on the highway.

One caveat is that the LED headlights receive a Poor rating from the IIHS, and those headlights are standard on all trims in Canada.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 stands out for the arrival of the Sorento Hybrid in Canada and the debut of the Sorento Plug-in Hybrid, which adds more efficiency-focused choice to the lineup.

The bottom line: The 2022 Sorento is a strong pick if you want the redesigned body style, family-friendly packaging, and the added appeal of hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. If you are price-sensitive, the softened market makes this a sensible year to shop, especially if you can find a well-equipped trim at the lower end of the range.
