Is the 2020 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Kia Sorento earns a 5/5 user rating, and it backs that up with a practical, value-focused midsize SUV layout. By this point in its third generation, it had grown into a more substantial vehicle with improved interior quality and more passenger space, while still offering useful technology such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus available advanced safety features. For used buyers, that makes it a strong fit if you want a capable, well-equipped family hauler with broad everyday appeal. 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

The 2020 Sorento is described as a mature third-generation SUV with improved interior quality, more passenger space, and a well-rounded feature set, all of which support confidence in day-to-day ownership. It also brought standard all-wheel drive and made the V6 the default on most trims, which adds to its sense of capability and completeness. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the vehicle has been maintained properly, especially if you are considering one of the less powerful engine configurations.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Kia Sorento?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right one.

• Deal availability: 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 385 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.39% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,267 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $18,267 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,590 CAD.

That price movement suggests the 2020 Sorento has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. Because the model is still positioned as a practical, value-focused midsize SUV with useful technology and strong everyday versatility, it should remain appealing to shoppers looking for space and equipment without paying new-SUV money. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.39% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Sorento is the better pick if you want a mature, well-equipped used midsize SUV with strong value and a broad inventory to shop from. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby model years to see whether a lower-priced example offers similar space and equipment for less money.
