Used 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe for Sale nearScarborough, ON

How much does the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 13.39% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 474 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its comfortable seating, great features, and value for the price, and they also appreciate its safety features and spaciousness. The Santa Fe’s practical two-row layout makes it a strong fit if you want a family-friendly crossover without stepping up to a larger three-row SUV. The main trade-offs are the underpowered, noisy base engine and a design that may not suit everyone.

With 29.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively for the right example.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners’ feedback points to a vehicle that feels comfortable, well equipped, and easy to live with over time, with many describing it as a dependable choice for everyday use. The expert assessment also highlights refined controls and exceptionally good build quality, which supports the impression of a well-sorted SUV.

Hyundai’s five-year/100,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper warranty and five years of roadside assistance add some ownership reassurance for used buyers. Even so, you should still check service records carefully, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one that has seen hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Essential, Preferred, Luxury, and Ultimate are the trim levels to compare. Essential is the one to scrutinise most closely because blind-spot warning is not included there, and it also lacks the broader safety and convenience equipment that appears on higher grades. The top trims add more premium equipment and a more upscale feel, so they suit you best if you want a better-equipped daily driver.
• Powertrain: The standard 185-horsepower 2.4-litre four-cylinder is the least desirable option, while the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder brings 235 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. If you want stronger passing power and better performance at altitude, the turbo engine is the one to seek out.
• Safety package: Hyundai’s safety suite includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assistance. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential or Preferred, so you need Luxury trim for those features.
• Infotainment: Every Santa Fe gets Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Preferred adds SiriusXM and Blue Link connected services, while Ultimate upgrades to an 8-inch display, navigation, wireless smartphone charging, and a 12-speaker Infinity audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The entry-level engine with front-wheel drive uses 10.8 L/100 km in the city, 8.0 on the highway, and 9.6 combined. With all-wheel drive, those figures rise to 11.3 L/100 km city, 8.8 highway, and 10.1 combined. The turbocharged engine with all-wheel drive uses 12.0 L/100 km city, 9.2 highway, and 10.7 combined.

Which 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 4 trim levels: Essential, Preferred, Luxury, and Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• Essential: This is the entry point, but it’s the trim where you’ll feel the biggest equipment gaps, especially if you care about broader safety coverage and convenience features. It makes sense only if you’re focused on keeping purchase price down and are comfortable with a more basic setup.
• Preferred: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds SiriusXM, Blue Link connected services, and useful safety-related tech such as the ultrasonic occupant alert system and safe exit assist. If you want a well-rounded used Santa Fe without stretching to the top end, this is the one to target.
• Luxury: This is the trim to choose if safety equipment matters most, because it brings blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and the Blind View Monitor camera system. It’s the smart pick if you want a more complete safety package.
• Ultimate: This is the most premium version, with the larger 8-inch display, navigation, wireless smartphone charging, and the 12-speaker Infinity audio system. It suits you best if you want the most upscale Santa Fe experience and are willing to pay for it.

If safety equipment is a priority, note that blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential or Preferred.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly when a strong listing appears.

• Deal availability: 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 474 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.39% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,044 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $20,074 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,177 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Santa Fe has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help keep demand healthy in the near term. For a future seller, that also means you may need to price competitively if you want your listing to stand out. The good news is that a well-equipped, well-kept Santa Fe still has broad appeal thanks to its comfort, safety, and value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a five-star overall crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

The Santa Fe’s safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a standard rear-seat reminder system. A driver monitoring system is also available. On Preferred and up, you also get safe exit assist and an ultrasonic occupant alert system tied to Blue Link. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential or Preferred, so you need Luxury trim for those features.

Should I buy a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.39% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It stands out as the only Santa Fe for 2020, with a five-passenger layout, standard rear-seat reminder, and an available camera-based Blind-Spot View Monitor.

The bottom line: If you want the most straightforward version of this generation with strong value, useful safety tech, and a practical two-row layout, the 2020 Santa Fe is a smart choice. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby model years, but the 2020 remains appealing because it combines broad owner approval with a softer used-market price.
