Is the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its excellent value, comfort, and array of features, and many also like its smooth driving experience and fuel efficiency on the highway. For you, that makes it a sensible pick if you want a well-rounded midsize SUV with useful space and a practical family focus. With 29.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with praise centred on comfort, value, and everyday usability. That said, some drivers mention the engine can feel under-powered at times, so long-term ownership risk is more about matching the powertrain to your needs than worrying about broad reliability red flags.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe?

It looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 389 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.72% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,472 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $23,610 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,445 CAD.

That softer pricing can be a mixed signal for future resale: it may help you buy at a more attractive entry point now, but it also means there is less upward momentum to support a quick profit later. If you plan to sell in a few years, the current market suggests you should focus on buying well and keeping the vehicle in strong condition. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,347 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $23,610 CAD average.
• It offers strong value in a practical five-passenger package.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2021 if you want the more versatile, better-equipped Santa Fe and you can find a well-priced example. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2020 is the better value path, especially if you do not need the 2021’s extra flexibility.
