Used 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe for Sale nearRichmond Hill, ON

How much does the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 13.04% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 489 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of choice if you're comparing trims and equipment.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 4.71/5 user rating and an 8.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its comfortable seating, great features, and value for the price, and they also like its safety features and spaciousness. The main trade-offs are the underpowered, noisy base engine and some disappointment over missing amenities on certain versions.

It fits you well if you want a practical five-passenger crossover that sits between compact and midsize SUVs, especially if you value easy-to-use technology and a comfortable cabin over sporty driving feel. With 30.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with repeated praise for comfort, value, and features that make it easy to count on day to day. The expert drive notes also describe the Santa Fe as a good daily driver with a smooth ride, compliant behaviour, and refined controls.

You also get a five-year/100,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper warranty, plus five years of roadside assistance and three years of BlueLink connected services, which helps reduce early ownership risk. For used buyers, the main long-term concern is less about the overall package and more about choosing a well-equipped trim that avoids the weaker base-engine experience.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Essential, Preferred, Luxury, and Ultimate are the four trim levels. The base Essential is the one most likely to leave you wanting more, since blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not included there or on Preferred. Luxury and Ultimate bring more of the features that make the Santa Fe feel fully equipped.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.4-litre four-cylinder is the least appealing choice, while the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder is the stronger option with 235 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. If you drive in hilly areas or want better passing power, the turbo engine is the one to target.
• Safety package: The Santa Fe includes a broad safety suite with adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a rear-seat reminder system. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential or Preferred, while Preferred and up add safe exit assist.
• Infotainment: Every Santa Fe gets Bluetooth plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Preferred adds SiriusXM and Blue Link connected services, while Ultimate adds an 8-inch display, navigation, wireless smartphone charging, and a 12-speaker Infinity audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The entry-level engine with FWD is rated at 10.8 L/100 km city, 8.0 highway, and 9.6 combined. With AWD, it rises to 11.3 city, 8.8 highway, and 10.1 combined. The turbocharged engine with AWD is rated at 12.0 city, 9.2 highway, and 10.7 combined.

Which 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 4 trim levels: Essential, Preferred, Luxury, and Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• Essential: This is the trim to skip unless price is your only priority. It gets the basics, but you give up important safety equipment that appears higher up the range, and the standard engine is the weakest part of the Santa Fe.
• Preferred: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds SiriusXM, Blue Link connected services, and useful convenience and safety tech, while also making the turbo engine available as an upgrade. If you want the sweet spot between price and equipment, this is the one to focus on.
• Luxury: This is the trim to choose if you want the Santa Fe to feel properly loaded. It adds the surround-view camera system and unlocks blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which are important upgrades for everyday use.
• Ultimate: This is the most feature-rich version, with the larger 8-inch display, navigation, wireless charging, and the 12-speaker Infinity audio system. It suits you best if you want the most polished Santa Fe experience and are willing to pay for it.

For safety-package shoppers, note that blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential or Preferred, while Luxury adds them and Ultimate builds on that equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe?

The market looks moderately favourable if you're a selective buyer who is willing to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 489 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.04% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,417 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $20,485 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,556 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Santa Fe is currently in a buyer-friendly phase, which can make it easier for future sellers to compete on value. If you buy at today's lower average, you may have less room for appreciation later unless the market tightens again.

The good news for resale is that the Santa Fe has strong owner satisfaction and a reputation for comfort, features, and value, which helps keep demand steady. Well-equipped trims should be easier to move than bare-bones versions because shoppers in this segment often want the safety and convenience features that make the Santa Fe stand out.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a five-star overall crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

The Santa Fe’s safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a rear-seat reminder system. A driver monitoring system is also available, and Preferred and higher trims add safe exit assist.

One important caveat is that blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential or Preferred, so you need to move up to Luxury for those features. Luxury also adds the Blind View Monitor, which shows a live camera feed of the blind spots in the instrument cluster.

Should I buy a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year stands out because it is a five-passenger crossover with a standard rear-seat reminder system and an available camera-based Blind-Spot View Monitor system.

The bottom line: If you want the Santa Fe in its five-passenger form with strong value, good safety equipment, and a lower used price than last year, the 2020 is a sensible choice. If your priority is maximum space or a newer feature set, you may want to compare it with a different model year, but for price-conscious buyers, this one is worth serious consideration.
