Used 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe for Sale nearNepean, ON

How much does the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 14.02% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 490 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.71/5 user rating and an 8.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its comfortable seating, great features, value for the price, safety features, and spaciousness. In practical terms, that lines up well with the Santa Fe’s role as a five-passenger crossover that sits between compact and midsize SUVs, so you get family-friendly usefulness without moving up to a larger three-row model.

The main trade-offs are the underwhelming base engine and the fact that the design may not appeal to everyone. Even so, the Santa Fe’s strong equipment list and value-focused positioning make it a compelling choice if you want a well-rounded daily driver. There are 30.6% good or great deals in the market, which suggests you can still find attractive pricing if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners also describe it as comfortable, value-packed, and safety-minded, with several comments pointing to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience. The expert evaluation adds that the Santa Fe is easy to live with and refined in everyday use, which supports the impression that it should be a solid long-term companion.

Hyundai’s five-year/100,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper warranty and five years of roadside assistance also help reduce early ownership risk. For used buyers, the main long-term concern is making sure the vehicle has been maintained properly, especially if you’re considering one with the base engine or higher mileage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Essential, Preferred, Luxury, and Ultimate are the four trim levels. Essential is the most basic version, while Preferred adds more convenience and connected features. Luxury brings a more advanced safety and camera package, and Ultimate is the most fully equipped version with the strongest feature set and the turbocharged engine. If you want the best balance of equipment and value, Preferred is the trim to focus on.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.4-litre four-cylinder makes 185 horsepower, while the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder delivers 235 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The turbo engine is the one to seek out if you want stronger acceleration, better passing power, and more confidence at altitude.
• Safety package: The Santa Fe offers adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a driver monitoring system. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential or Preferred, so you need Luxury trim for those features. Preferred and up also add safe exit assist, and Luxury adds the Blind View Monitor.
• Infotainment: Every Santa Fe gets Bluetooth plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Preferred adds SiriusXM and Blue Link connected services, while Ultimate upgrades to an 8-inch display, navigation, wireless smartphone charging, and a 12-speaker Infinity sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The entry-level engine with front-wheel drive uses 10.8 L/100 km in the city, 8.0 on the highway, and 9.6 combined. With all-wheel drive, that rises to 11.3 city, 8.8 highway, and 10.1 combined. The turbocharged engine with all-wheel drive uses 12.0 city, 9.2 highway, and 10.7 combined.

Which 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 4 trim levels: Essential, Preferred, Luxury, and Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• Essential: This is the entry point, but it’s the trim most likely to leave you wanting more because blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not included. It makes sense only if you’re prioritising the lowest possible purchase price and are comfortable with a simpler feature set.
• Preferred: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds SiriusXM, Blue Link connected services, and useful remote features, while still keeping the Santa Fe’s core strengths intact. If you want a well-equipped daily driver without stretching too far up the range, this is the trim to target.
• Luxury: This is the smart pick if safety tech matters most, because it adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, safe exit assist, and the Blind View Monitor. It’s the trim to choose if you want a more complete safety package.
• Ultimate: This is the most luxurious and tech-rich version, with the turbocharged engine, larger 8-inch display, navigation, wireless charging, and the 12-speaker Infinity audio system. Choose it if you want the most polished Santa Fe experience and are willing to pay for it.

The safety-package trim note is simple: you need Luxury trim for blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so it’s worth shopping carefully and comparing listings.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 490 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.02% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,183 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $20,183 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,475 CAD.

That kind of price movement suggests the Santa Fe has become more accessible for used buyers, which can make it harder for a future seller to command top dollar unless the vehicle is especially well equipped or exceptionally clean. If you buy now, you’re benefiting from a softer market, but that also means resale expectations should be realistic. Trim choice matters too: better-equipped versions with desirable safety and convenience features should be easier to market later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

The Santa Fe comes with a strong safety feature set, including adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a driver monitoring system. A rear-seat reminder system is standard, and safe exit assist is included on Preferred and up. Luxury trim adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and the Blind View Monitor, which shows a live camera feed of the blind spot in the instrument cluster.

One important caveat is that blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential or Preferred, so you need to move up to Luxury if those features matter to you.

Should I buy a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.02% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year stands out for being the only Santa Fe in the lineup, with a five-passenger layout, a standard rear-seat reminder system, and an available camera-based Blind-Spot View Monitor.

The bottom line: The 2020 Santa Fe is a strong choice if you want a comfortable, safe, and well-equipped five-passenger SUV with good value and a softer used-market price. If you’re price-sensitive, this year’s lower average price makes it especially appealing; if you want more space or a broader powertrain lineup, you may want to compare nearby model years before deciding.
