Used 2020 Honda Pilot for Sale nearKitchener, ON

How much does the 2020 Honda Pilot cost?

Prices have softened 9.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 196 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of choice if you're comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2020 Honda Pilot a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Honda Pilot earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its spacious interior, responsive handling, and overall comfort. They also value its performance and fuel efficiency, which fits a family-focused SUV that prioritises everyday usability.

The trade-offs are familiar: the technology can feel unintuitive, and some owners note higher city fuel consumption and towing limitations. That lines up with the Pilot’s role as a practical three-row SUV for families who want space and comfort more than cutting-edge tech.

With 29.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as dependable in everyday use, with praise centred on comfort, performance, and fuel efficiency. The user feedback also points to a vehicle that many owners feel good about living with over time.

The Pilot’s powertrain is presented as stout and well suited to real-world driving, which supports confidence in day-to-day dependability. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic durability and more about living with its less intuitive controls and higher city fuel use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Honda Pilot?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is a solid value in Canada with standard all-wheel drive, 18-inch alloy wheels, tri-zone climate control, remote keyless entry, remote start, heated front seats, push-button start, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, power locks, and power windows with a one-touch driver’s window. The EX adds a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, LED fog lights, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, roof rails, and a power moonroof. The EX-L adds leather upholstery, a power liftgate, a heated steering wheel, second-row outboard heated seats and in-door sunshades, a 4-way power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, and on-board navigation and SiriusXM satellite radio. The Touring adds 20-inch wheels, blue ambient interior lighting, an upgraded stereo, a panoramic sunroof in seven-seat configuration, heated and ventilated front seats, auto on-off LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and more on-board tech. The Black Edition is based on the Touring and adds unique black-painted wheels, black exterior paint, black grille and accents, and red interior lighting.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a 3.5-litre V6 with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. LX, EX, and EX-L trims use a 6-speed automatic, while Touring and Black Edition models get a 9-speed automatic that provides more refined acceleration and should help fuel efficiency.
• Safety package: HondaSensing is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist and lane-departure warning, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Front and side-impact airbags, child-seat anchors, Vehicle Stability Assist, and traction control are also standard. Front and rear parking sensors and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert are optional.
• Infotainment: All trims get Honda’s Display Audio 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Bluetooth connectivity and a USB port are included on the base trim. SiriusXM satellite radio is added from the EX-L, navigation is added on the EX-L, and a rear entertainment system and Wi-Fi hotspot are standard on the Touring and Black Edition. Those trims also receive a 590-watt, 11-speaker premium audio system and wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates versions with the 6-speed automatic at 13.0 litres per 100 kilometres in city driving, 9.3 on the highway, and 11.3 combined. With the 9-speed automatic, those figures improve to 12.4 L/100 km city, 9.3 hwy, and 11.0 combined.

Which 2020 Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2020 Honda Pilot is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the essentials without stretching your budget. You still get standard all-wheel drive, heated front seats, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and HondaSensing, so it covers the basics well.
• EX: This is the first step up if you want more comfort and convenience, thanks to the power driver’s seat, moonroof, roof rails, and LED fog lights. It makes sense if you want a nicer daily driver without jumping too far in price.
• EX-L: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds leather, a power liftgate, a heated steering wheel, heated second-row outboard seats, and navigation. It’s the sweet spot if you want a more premium family SUV without moving into the pricier upper trims.
• Touring: Choose this if you want the richer tech and comfort upgrades, including the upgraded stereo, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, rain-sensing wipers, and rear entertainment system. It suits buyers who spend lots of time on road trips.
• Black Edition: This is the style-led top trim, based on the Touring, with blacked-out exterior details and red interior lighting. It’s for you if you want the most distinctive appearance and the most fully equipped Pilot.

HondaSensing is standard across the range, so even the lower trims start with a strong safety package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 196 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.41% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,161 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $30,014 CAD sits slightly below last year's $33,131 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you're buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market. If prices stay near this level, resale values may remain under pressure compared with the prior year.

Even so, the Pilot’s broad family appeal and strong owner satisfaction help support demand. Well-equipped examples in good condition should remain easier to move than less desirable, poorly maintained listings.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Honda Pilot safe?

The Honda Pilot earns a five-star overall crash test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It also earns the best crash test score of Good from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

HondaSensing is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist and lane-departure warning, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Front and side-impact airbags, child-seat anchors, Vehicle Stability Assist, and traction control are also standard.

Optional safety equipment includes front and rear parking sensors and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The main caveat is that some useful safety tech is not standard, so you may need to step up or add options to get the full suite.

Should I buy a 2020 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers strong family utility, standard HondaSensing, and a spacious, practical three-row layout.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $32,179 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $30,014 CAD average.
• It adds a more refined overall package with stronger emphasis on interior, powertrain, and driving dynamics.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2020 is the smarter buy because prices have eased and inventory is decent. If you can spend more and want the newer model-year package, the 2021 is worth a look, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2020.
