Used 2020 Honda Civic for Sale nearSaskatoon, SK

How much does the 2020 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 10.68% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 693 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Honda Civic earns a 4.9/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, great fuel economy, and fun driving experience. They also highlight the stylish design, safety advancements, and overall value, which fits a car that aims to feel more expensive than its price suggests.

The main trade-offs are outdated technology and a desire for more power and more USB ports. Even so, the Civic’s practical, well-rounded character makes sense if you want a small car that is easy to live with and backed by a strong reputation for reliability and longevity.

Only 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards careful shopping.

Is the 2020 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as reliable and affordable, and they also point to its smooth ride and trouble-free everyday use. That kind of feedback matters if you want a used car you can count on over time.

The expert review also reinforces that dependability by describing the Civic’s powertrains as smooth, quick to rev, and flawless. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about durability and more about living with the car’s dated technology and modest feature requests.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Honda Civic?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Civic’s trim spread includes sedan, coupe, and 4-door hatchback body styles, with the Si adding matte-black 18-inch wheels, available LED fog lights, available LED headlights, an updated grille, and a revised rear bumper. Base versions are simpler, while higher trims add more convenience and visual polish.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a 2.0-litre inline 4-cylinder with 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque, a 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-4 with 174 hp and 162 lb-ft, a 180 hp hatchback version, or the Si’s 205 hp setup. The engines are smooth and responsive, and the CVT is described as well behaved.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning, emergency forward braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, active lane centring, and auto high beams. Si models get Honda Sensing too, while the optional LED headlights helped the Civic earn strong safety recognition.
• Infotainment: The 7-inch touchscreen is standard on all models except the base DX sedan, and it includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is described as outdated and slower than newer Honda setups, so test it carefully if tech matters to you.
• Fuel efficiency: The Si is rated at 8.9 L/100 km in the city, 6.4 L/100 km on the highway, and 7.8 L/100 km combined. Most CVT-equipped Civic models are said to return near 8.0 L/100 km city and as low as 6.0 L/100 km highway.

Which 2020 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2020 Honda Civic is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Touring, and Si.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value-focused choice if you want the Civic’s core strengths without paying for extra equipment. It suits you best if you care most about affordability, efficiency, and the Civic’s broad appeal.
• Touring: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale Civic with added convenience and comfort features. It makes the most sense if you want a more complete daily driver and are willing to pay for it.
• Si: This is the enthusiast choice, with the turbocharged 205 hp engine, standard stick-shift, adaptive dampers, and a more engaging chassis. It’s the best fit if driving enjoyment matters most.

Honda Sensing is standard on Si models, and the safety package includes active lane centring, adaptive cruise control, and auto high beams.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 693 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.68% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,139 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $20,144 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,551 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices continue to ease. The Civic’s broad appeal and strong reputation should still support demand, especially among shoppers who value reliability and efficiency.

Because the model continues to attract buyers looking for a practical, well-rounded small car, resale should remain relatively resilient compared with less established rivals. Strong owner satisfaction also helps keep interest steady when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Honda Civic safe?

The 2020 Civic earns the Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rated it five stars in all categories except four stars in the passenger frontal crash rating on the coupe.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing comes with forward collision warning, emergency forward braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. The system also includes active lane centring and auto high beams, and Honda improved the optional LED headlights to help secure the IIHS result.

The main caveat is that the coupe’s passenger frontal crash rating is lower than the rest of the Civic’s NHTSA results, so coupe shoppers should note that difference.

Should I buy a 2020 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.68% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Minor design tweaks and more standard safety and convenience features freshen the Civic for 2020.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $18,612 CAD, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $20,144 CAD average.
• It offers a refined version of the Civic’s winning style, value, and performance formula.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,503 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $20,144 CAD average.
• It marks the outgoing generation and adds a sense of final-year distinction.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the best all-around pick if you want the freshest version of this generation without paying next-year pricing. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2019 is the smarter value play; if you want the last year of the generation and don’t mind paying more, the 2021 is worth a look.
