Strong demand for well-liked full-size pickups can also help support resale, especially when the truck has the features and condition buyers want.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $35,422 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $33,633 CAD average.
• It adds stronger brand momentum and continued buyer appeal.

The bottom line:
The 2020 is the better primary choice if you want a lower average price and a healthier share of good deals. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2020 is the smarter path; if you are willing to spend more for a newer model-year alternative, the 2021 is worth a look.
