Is the 2019 Toyota Corolla a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its affordability, reliability, excellent gas mileage, strong safety features, and ease of use. That lines up well with its practical compact-car mission, especially if you want a dependable everyday car rather than something flashy. Is the 2019 Toyota Corolla reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, dependable performance, and a trouble-free ownership experience, along with the kind of long-term confidence many used-car shoppers want. The Corolla’s reputation for durability also fits that theme, especially for buyers who plan to keep the car for years. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about mechanical drama and more about choosing a well-maintained example that has been cared for properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Toyota Corolla?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on standout listings.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 380 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.41% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,419 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Toyota Corolla's resale value?

The current average of $17,808 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,444 CAD.

That softer pricing can be helpful if you are buying now, but it also means future resale upside may be more limited than it was a year ago. If prices stay near this level, a seller may need to price competitively to attract attention. Even so, the Corolla’s broad appeal and reputation for practicality should help it remain easy to move when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Toyota Corolla or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $19,565 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $17,808 CAD average.
• It adds a more stylish and enjoyable character.

The bottom line: Choose the 2019 if you want the better value and a proven, practical Corolla with strong owner approval. If you can stretch your budget and want a newer-feeling design with a bit more personality, the 2020 is the better upgrade path.
