The current average of $17,741 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,498 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit near-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If prices stay soft, future sellers may need to be more competitive to stand out. Even so, the Corolla’s practical reputation should help it remain broadly appealing to used buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.56/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Toyota Corolla or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.56/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $19,589 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $17,741 CAD average.
• It adds a more stylish and enjoyable character.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2019 is the smarter starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction and decent deal availability. If you are willing to pay more for a fresher-feeling alternative, the 2020 is the better secondary path.
