That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the car more attractive to you as a buyer today. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.56/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Toyota Corolla or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.56/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $19,791 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $17,598 CAD average.
• It adds a more stylish and enjoyable character while keeping the Corolla’s practical mission.

The bottom line: If your priority is value, the 2019 is the better starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction and decent deal availability. If you want to spend more for a newer feel and a bit more style, the 2020 is the better alternative; otherwise, the 2019 is the smarter pick for price-sensitive buyers.
