Is the 2019 Mazda CX-5 a good car?

Yes — the 4.83/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. For you, that makes it a compelling pick if you want a compact SUV that feels more polished and engaging than many rivals. The fact that 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals also suggests there are worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with praise centred on value, fuel efficiency, and overall satisfaction. That said, some buyers wanted more power and a few higher-end features, so your long-term ownership risk is more about matching expectations than worrying about major surprises.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Mazda CX-5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 311 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.28% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,146 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Mazda CX-5's resale value?

The current average of $21,566 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,259 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests future sellers may face a more competitive resale environment than they would have a year ago. If you buy now, the lower entry price can help offset some depreciation risk later. The current market also shows enough inventory to keep pricing disciplined, so condition and equipment will matter when you eventually resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $23,031 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $21,566 CAD average.
• It shifts the CX-5 further into premium territory with a more upscale market position.

The bottom line: The 2019 is the better value if you want a well-liked CX-5 at a lower price and you’re comfortable with its trade-offs. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model-year feel and a more premium positioning, the 2020 is the better secondary path.
