Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Hyundai Sonata?

It looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop with some leverage but still need to move quickly on the best examples.

• Deal availability: 31% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 100 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.11% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,307 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $13,307 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,656 CAD.

That softer pricing means future sellers may face more competition if the market stays well supplied. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to the previous year's average. The Sonata's value proposition still helps it appeal to budget-minded shoppers, which can support demand when you eventually resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 Sonata makes the most sense if you want a value-focused midsize sedan with strong owner approval and a softer used-car price. If your priority is stretching your budget, this year is a sensible primary target; if you want to compare against newer or older Sonatas for the best mix of price and features, a different year may be worth a look.
