Is the 2019 Hyundai Sonata a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Hyundai Sonata earns a 4.56/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its excellent fuel economy, spacious interior, smooth ride, and the variety of features available. That lines up well with its role as a roomy, well-equipped midsize sedan for shoppers who want comfort and value in a practical daily driver. Is the 2019 Hyundai Sonata reliable?

Owners rate it 4.56/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also points to a generally positive experience, with many describing the car as dependable and trouble-free enough to recommend for everyday use. The recurring praise for fuel economy and comfort suggests it can be a sensible long-term ownership choice if you find a well-kept example. For used buyers, the main risk is that condition and maintenance history matter a lot, so a careful inspection is especially important.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Hyundai Sonata?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some confidence but still benefit from comparing listings closely.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 101 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.99% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,606 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $13,631 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,252 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit how much value you recover later. If you plan to sell in a few years, the current trend implies you should expect resale pricing to remain sensitive to mileage, condition, and maintenance records. A well-kept example should still appeal to budget-minded shoppers looking for a comfortable, feature-rich sedan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.56/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.56/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 Sonata makes sense if you want a comfortable, well-equipped midsize sedan and you find one with a clean history at a strong price. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, mileage, and asking price.
