Is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its value, safety features, comfort, spacious interior, and ride quality. For you, that makes it a sensible pick if you want a practical family SUV with a well-thought-out cabin and easy day-to-day usability. Is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, especially when it comes to everyday use and long-term comfort. For used buyers, that means the Santa Fe looks like a solid long-term bet, but you should verify maintenance history and condition before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 397 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.63% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,007 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $18,046 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,654 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more attractive point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should focus on buying well and keeping the vehicle in strong condition. A well-maintained example should still appeal to family buyers looking for value, comfort, and practicality.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.63% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,067 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $18,046 CAD average.
• It adds a standard rear-seat reminder system and an available camera-based Blind-Spot View Monitor.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2019 is the stronger buy because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction. If you are willing to spend more for newer safety tech and a slightly fresher package, the 2020 is the better secondary path.
