Is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 4.85/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its value, safety features, comfort, spacious interior, and ride quality, which fits well if you want a practical family SUV with a well-thought-out cabin. It is especially appealing if you value easy day-to-day use over sporty driving dynamics. With 31.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity.

Is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.85/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with praise centred on value, comfort, and the sense that it is a solid choice in its class. Some drivers do mention road noise and occasional battery-related concerns, so you should still inspect maintenance history carefully. For used buyers, that means the long-term ownership risk looks manageable, but a thorough pre-purchase check is still wise.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 405 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.38% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,026 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $18,026 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,810 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can make the Santa Fe easier to buy now but may also limit short-term upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, the current lower entry price could help you manage depreciation, especially if you buy well. Strong demand for practical, comfortable family SUVs can help support values, but condition and maintenance history will matter a lot.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.85/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.38% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.85/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,347 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $18,026 CAD average.
• It adds a standard rear-seat reminder and an available camera-based Blind-Spot View Monitor.

The bottom line:
Buy the 2019 if you want the better value and are comfortable with its well-liked family-friendly strengths. If you can stretch for the 2020, you get a newer take with useful safety and convenience updates, but price-sensitive buyers will likely find the 2019 the smarter purchase.
