The 2019 Trax is described as a practical, usable small SUV with a range of trims and features that make it easy to tailor to different needs. It also benefits from the first-generation model’s established place in Chevrolet’s lineup, with the compact packaging and city-friendly size that helped define it. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that earlier first-generation Trax models were relatively slow and light on safety features compared with later versions.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Trax?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

If you find a listing below $13,582 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $13,582 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,167 CAD.

That decline suggests the Trax is currently in a softer pricing environment, which can be helpful if you're buying now but less favourable if you're planning to sell soon. If you own one, the current market may mean you need to price it competitively to attract attention. On the other hand, the model's affordability and compact practicality should still help it appeal to value-focused shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 Trax makes sense if you want a compact, affordable small SUV with a practical footprint and a market that currently favours careful shoppers. If your priority is stretching your budget, this year deserves a close look; if you want to compare value across nearby years, you may also want to consider whichever model year gives you the best combination of price and available inventory.
