CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Acura MDX
Summary
With 17 currently listed for sale near Edmonton, AB and an average price of $28,443.00 CAD, 17.6% of 2019 Acura MDXs for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.

Why it stands out
The 2019 Acura MDX stands out as a three-row luxury SUV that blends practicality with a strong reputation for quality. Acura’s MDX has long been tied to the Honda Pilot through a shared platform, and the model’s appeal has always centred on offering room for at least six passengers, a comfortable ride, and a feature-rich cabin without drifting too far from a sporty character. For buyers who want a used luxury SUV with three rows, that combination remains a major part of its identity.
For 2019, the MDX sits within the third generation, which brought a re-engineered 3.5-litre V6 making 290 horsepower, a dual-screen infotainment setup, and later additions such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also offers Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive, and Natural Resources Canada rated this generation at 11.1 litres per 100 kilometres combined. The 2017 refresh is especially important for this model year because it made all of the MDX’s formerly optional safety systems standard and introduced the MDX Sport Hybrid, which paired a 3.0-litre V6 with a trio of electric motors and delivered 321 system horsepower. That hybrid was also more efficient than the standard MDX, averaging 9.0 L/100 km combined and 9.1 L/100 km in city driving.
Even so, the 2019 MDX is not without compromises. The infotainment system is described as confounding and frustrating to use when the vehicle is in motion, and the third row is tight. Still, the MDX’s mix of standard safety equipment, upscale features, and solid reliability makes it appealing to shoppers who value comfort and versatility more than outright performance.

| Year-Round High | $31,728 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $31,714 CAD |

There are 98 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2019 Acura MDX a good car?
Generally — the 2019 Acura MDX earns a 4.4/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its smooth ride, spacious interior, and reliable performance, and many also like the V6 power and luxury features. It fits well if you want a three-row luxury SUV with family-friendly practicality, comfort, and all-weather capability. 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you still have some room to shop carefully.
Is the 2019 Acura MDX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owner feedback highlights reliable performance, and many drivers describe it as dependable and trouble-free over time. That said, used buyers should still watch for the usual age-related wear items and make sure maintenance has been kept up.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Acura MDX?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you shop carefully.
- Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 98 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.46% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $27,022 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Acura MDX's resale value?
The current average of $28,080 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,714 CAD.
That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more attractive level today, but it also suggests future resale gains may be more modest if the market stays soft. For a seller, the current trend means you may need to price competitively to stand out. Strong owner satisfaction can still help support demand when it is time to sell.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Acura MDX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.46% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $30,145 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $28,080 CAD average.
- It adds a broader reputation for family-focused practicality and standard advanced safety features.
The bottom line: The 2019 is the better value if you want a lower entry price and still want the MDX’s comfort, V6 power, and family-friendly layout. If you can stretch your budget, the 2020 is worth considering for shoppers who want a newer model-year package and are willing to pay more for it.
