Is the 2016 Acura MDX a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Acura MDX earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the comfortable ride, effective safety features, and overall performance, and many also like the spacious interior and advanced features that make it a practical family SUV. In use, that lines up well with its three-row layout and well-equipped luxury positioning. With 23.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with praise centred on the vehicle’s overall quality and the confidence it inspires over time. Some owners do mention transmission shifting concerns, so a careful test drive and service-history review are smart steps before you buy. For used buyers, that means the long-term risk looks manageable, but you should still verify how the vehicle has been maintained.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and focus on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 23.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.
• Inventory: There are 113 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.42% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,958 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $15,966 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,335 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable point if you plan to keep the vehicle for several years. For a future seller, it also means there may be less room for further depreciation than there was a year ago, especially if you buy near the lower end of the current range. Well-kept examples with strong equipment and clean history should still be easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 23.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Acura MDX is the better primary choice if you want a well-equipped three-row luxury SUV with strong owner approval and a softer used-market price than it had a year ago. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price offsets any differences in equipment or market availability.
