Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Mazda CX-5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2018 Mazda CX-5's resale value?

The current average of $18,937 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,627 CAD.

That price movement suggests the CX-5 has become more accessible for buyers, which can make it a tougher vehicle for sellers to command top dollar in the short term. If you own one, the current market is still supportive because the model has broad appeal and a strong reputation for style and driving enjoyment. Over time, that kind of demand can help cushion resale value, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should buy the 2018 if you want the CX-5’s polished feel, strong owner approval, and a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2018 remains a smart target when you want a well-liked compact SUV with a premium-leaning character.
