Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 775 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.76% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,956 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $12,959 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,383 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the vehicle easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, the current pricing trend means your return will depend heavily on how well the vehicle is maintained and how competitively it is priced at trade-in time. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of owner satisfaction and current value, the 2018 is the better starting point. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, keep an eye on similarly equipped nearby years and compare the asking prices closely before you decide.
